A week of tennis vacation at the Vitality Hotel Punta on the Croatian island of Lošinj has come to an end. During this week, Tom completed a 5-day intensive camp at the Ljubicic Tennis Academy , which we documented with daily blog posts in our Camp Diary. This should give you a good idea of what such an intensive camp is like. Of course, what would a return be complete without a conclusion and a review of the camp, the academy, and, naturally, the tennis hotel? With this review, we're writing the final chapter of the Camp Diary. The diary is now closed, but unforgettable memories will remain.
Read it for yourselves!
In part two of our blog series "Nutritional Supplements for TennisTraveller " we want to introduce you to two very special Orthomol products that will provide you before and during training or matches . This will prevent you from experiencing an energy slump and ensure you're always well-fueled. We thoroughly tested the Orthomol Sport prepare bar and the Orthomol Sport perform electrolyte drink, and they got us through an incredibly intense week at camp. And of course, what shouldn't be forgotten when it comes to supplements: the taste. Both products taste really good!
So fill up your energy tanks precisely when it's important and makes sense!
When we woke up this morning, the sun was shining after the continuous rain overnight. Unfortunately, our joy was short-lived, as a thunderstorm hit during our warm-up, quickly flooding all the courts. Unusual for this time of year, but no reason to take a break at the Ljubicic Tennis Academy . As planned, after the first hour of fitness, we headed to the four indoor hard courts for tennis training. Find out what happened on the fifth and final day of camp, and how the rest of the family spent their time at and around the Vitality Hotel Punta , in the fifth and final installment of our Camp Diary.
The weather forecast for today was clear: rain from morning till night. But as the coaches at the Ljubicic Tennis Academy told us, the island has not only a therapeutic climate but also a unique microclimate. "As long as it's windy, it won't rain here," said Head Coach Luka, and he was right. It wasn't a sunny, warm day, but it stayed dry until the end of training in the afternoon. This allowed the kids to complete their planned training program outdoors. Consistency was the topic of discussion this morning with Coach Mario Visek. I had the opportunity to have a chat with Ivanka Ajlec , the General Manager of the Vitality Hotel Punta , our lovely camp hotel. You can read about everything else that was going on in part four of our camp diaries.
Don't jump and move! Two instructions that were repeated again and again on day three of the intensive camp at the Ljubicic Tennis Academy in Veli Lošinj. Coach Darko had identified two areas for improvement in Tom's game: less jumping while hitting and less constant movement. This was the focus of work today – with success! On Wednesdays, the Academy only trains in the mornings, so after the morning fitness session and 1.5 hours of tennis, the day was over. Wednesday afternoons are for recovery, giving us time to explore the beautiful island. Among other places, we visited Mali Lošinj , which is located on the opposite side of the island. You can read about today's sporting and tourist activities in part three of our camp diary.
Day two of the intensive camp at the Ljubicic Tennis Academy in Veli Lošinj. The training schedule was the same as on the first day. After a hearty breakfast, we headed to the Ljubicic Tennis Academy gym at the Punta Vitality Hotel for an hour-long warm-up with fitness coach Oskar Amančić. All the kids were highly motivated, and that remained the case throughout the entire day. The second day of training ended at 5:30 p.m. And despite some initial tiredness, Tom is still going strong! You can read all about what happened and what I learned in my detailed conversation with head coach Luka Cvjetković , Jannik Sinner's long-time tour coach, in my second camp diary entry. Enjoy!
After arriving here on the beautiful island of Lošinj last Saturday and enjoying two days of vacation and settling in at our camp hotel, the Punta Vitality Hotel 's intensive camp at the Ljubicic Tennis Academy started today at 8 a.m. Excited and full of motivation, he headed towards the fitness room with his tennis gear packed. And let me tell you, the first day of camp, with perfect tennis weather, was quite an experience.
We quite spontaneously decided to go to Croatia, to the island of Lošinj, for Easter. The deciding factor was the Ljubicic Tennis Academy , which has been located in Veli Lošinj since 2021. Our son Tom will be participating in an intensive training program there. A week of pure tennis and fitness – that's what's on the agenda. The academy's motto, "BE YOUR BEST," will also be Tom's motto: giving it his all and having fun. He's already excited about everything that awaits him on and off the tennis courts. The rest of the family is also really looking forward to experiencing the "Vitality Island" with its beauty and healing climate, playing a bit of tennis, and enjoying a holiday.
5 days of intensive training and you can follow the daily camp life and much more via our camp diary - not quite live, but almost, and with lots of sound, text and in color!
