The first TennisTravellerexclusive camp with real game changers was a complete success - more to come!
At the end of 2023, we had a very special premiere: the first TennisTravelle Exclusive Camp . For me personally, this fulfilled a long-held wish to create a truly unique camp format. And what can I say? It was simply a fantastic event that thrilled the 12 participants from the first day to the last. Together with Markus Gentner , the former coach of Laura Siegemund and owner of the 4winners Tennis School near Stuttgart, I organized our inaugural camp at the Trans World Hotel Kranichhöhe in Much, near Cologne. During the four-day camp, the participants not only learned about numerous game-changers on and off the court, but also had the opportunity to extensively test the latest tennis rackets at the Wilson Demo Day . You can read all about what happened during the four days of the exclusive camp in my camp report. To give you a preview: the camp participants' feedback was overwhelmingly positive . This was fantastic for me, as we saw that the new camp format is incredibly appealing to TennisTraveller .
A pleasant get-together – the chemistry is right
On Thursday morning, Markus and I set off for Cologne, arriving without any problems at the camp hotel, the Trans World Hotel Kranichhöhe . Throughout the afternoon, the camp participants trickled in and were immediately delighted to find our welcome bag in their rooms. Everyone was pleased with the high-quality contents, including our exclusive TennisTraveller water bottle, sample products from Orthomol, and the TRIGGin trigger button for muscle tension. And best of all: the products could be tested right there at camp! In the evening, we all met for a champagne reception in the brasserie and got to know each other. It was very interesting, because although everyone was different in terms of age and playing ability, they all shared a love of tennis and a desire to participate in the intensive camp. So the first evening, with dinner and later at the bar, was already very fun and promising.

Training is starting and everyone is highly motivated!
Friday - 9:00 a.m.: The warm-up for the first two training groups began. Everyone was highly motivated. This group had 1.5 hours of group training in the morning and one hour in the afternoon. During the camp days, the focus wasn't on technical aspects, but rather on tactical and mental patterns. This was something completely new for many camp participants, but it proved effective and successful regardless of their skill level. So, they sweated, fought hard, and learned new things.
After the training sessions, we met in the meeting room, where Markus gave us a very interesting presentation, "Let's Talk About Tennis," packed with mental and tactical tips. How do I win more matches? This question ran throughout the entire camp and was addressed very concretely both on and off the court through drills and game strategies. A very intense discussion naturally ensued during the off-court session—a truly great exchange, which we repeated the following training day after the on-court session. And, of course, Markus was able to share some very interesting insights from the professional world and his time with Laura Siegemund. He also pointed out that the problems faced by professionals are often not so different from the mental and tactical challenges faced by amateurs. Full of new knowledge, the participants relaxed and unwinded before we met for dinner in the evening.

The same schedule was followed on the next training day. The day was further enhanced by the Wilson Demo Day with Jonas Wäschle . Jonas brought the latest Wilson rackets for testing and plenty of tips and tricks. The rackets were thoroughly tested, and Jonas was bombarded with questions about the equipment. A fantastic opportunity during training.

...always in action
A bit of relaxation, delicious food, and then off to the bar for some tennis talk. The fact that the local carnival troupe also made an appearance added to the already fantastic atmosphere.
On Sunday, the last day of camp, we trained again in the morning, trying to apply what we had learned in various drills and game situations. Camp ended at noon with a short feedback session. The group had really bonded in such a short time – we had a wonderful atmosphere throughout the camp.
Simply amazing feedback – it makes us so happy!
To ensure we could learn in detail how our camp participants experienced the camp, they received feedback along with a selection of photos afterward. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, which of course made me very happy! A huge thank you goes to Markus, Jonas, and the entire wonderful team at the Trans World Hotel Kranichhöhe ! Only through excellent teamwork could the camp have become what it ultimately was: a camp highlight!
And finally, a couple of sound bites from the participants
