We don't just play tennis at home, but also when we travel, of course. On our Vietnam trip, we took the new HEAD SPEED rackets with us and tested them out. Specifically, the TOUR, PRO, and MP. One racket family, yet three different rackets. After intense rallies on various Vietnamese hard courts, we summarize our impressions in our "TRIPLE T - TennisTraveller Tests" – as always, focusing on technique, feel, and usage recommendations.
And now for the best part: we're giving away these three HEAD rackets that we've tested ourselves – so three of you can really bring SPEED to the court! Enter by February 18, 2026 , and win one of the three HEAD rackets that will not only bring you power, but also rekindle that wanderlust that's still inside them.
The start of my very own tournament journey, My Road to Manavgat, reach its first highlight at the 23rd International Wilson Masters Open at the Ali Bey Club Manavgat Patricio Travel , I'll be flying to Turkey on March 20, 2026, to participate in the prestigious MT1000 senior tournament. Of course, tennis will be the main focus. But the various side events and leisure activities at the club promise a wonderful week of tennis. And naturally, there will be many enjoyable and interesting conversations and encounters with other tournament participants, club staff, and Patricio Travel employees. I'm already incredibly excited! Perhaps some of you might also be interested in participating in the tournament? I'll tell you what to expect in today's blog post. And I'm sure that the week itself will be even better than expected and described!
Starting next week, we'll be reporting from afar, because the TennisTraveller is off to Vietnam for three weeks! We'll be taking you along on a very special journey from Hanoi in the north to Ho Chi Minh City in the south. Of course, our tennis rackets are packed, as we'll be checking out and testing some lovely hotels with tennis courts in Vietnam. And naturally, we'll be sharing our experiences. But that's not all: we'll also be reporting on our excursions, impressions, and adventures, because we want to give you a closer look at Vietnam with its diverse landscapes, cultural highlights, and breathtaking nature. Together with Saffron Travel , a Vietnamese travel agency, we've planned an exciting and varied tour that we're really looking forward to! Because we think road trips and long-distance travel can be wonderfully combined with tennis!
Getting started in tournament tennis as a senior can raise a few questions for many players. What kinds of tournaments are there? What tournament categories exist at the regional, national, and international levels, and who are the respective tournaments suitable for? In connection with my own personal " Road to Manavgat ," the tournament trip with Patricio Travel to the 23rd International Wilson Masters Open next March, I've taken a closer look at the senior tournament landscape. Even after a 20-year hiatus from tournaments, the tournament categories aren't unfamiliar to me, as I've traveled extensively with my children to national and international tournaments in recent years. And the junior and adult tournament scene isn't dramatically different from that of seniors. I'd like to give you a brief overview of the senior tournament scene soon and perhaps clarify a few questions and uncertainties. Because one thing is certain: playing in tournaments is perfectly possible at a senior age and offers players of all skill levels plenty of opportunities to be active.
As part of our sponsorship of the METZINGEN OPEN 2025, we were looking for a travel scout for the ROBINSON PAMFILYA near Side in Turkey. With Astrid, we found a truly wonderful travel scout. She and her tennis buddy had the opportunity to explore the club for us for a week in late autumn. And as enthusiastic tennis players, the two of them spent many hours on the nine quartz sand courts. "Tennis, enjoyment & warmth – a perfect week at the ROBINSON PAMFILYA" – that's how Astrid's travel report begins. But now, read for yourselves what these two tennis ladies experienced. Thank you, Astrid, for your great feedback, and we wish you continued enjoyment on the tennis courts of this universe!
"TRIPLE T - TennisTraveller Tests" series continues with two tennis rackets. Specifically, two rackets that are among the bestsellers at our partner Tennis Warehouses Europe: the YONEX Ezone 100 and the Babolat Pure Drive. These two rackets can be classified as power rackets. Even though both rackets have the same weight and head size, they are quite different. You can find out exactly where the differences lie and what we discovered while playing in our review.
We love to take a look behind the scenes and ask questions personally. This was the case at one of our exclusive tennis hotels, the Aphrodite Hills Resort in Cyprus . I had the opportunity Margarete Dunst, the resort's Commercial Manager, a few questions that will surely give you an even better understanding of the resort than our detailed hotel description. In this interview, you'll learn why the Aphrodite Hills Resort is an ideal tennis holiday destination, especially for tennis groups and teams, which sports and leisure activities Margarete recommends, and which airports offer easy access to Cyprus, including flight times and details. So nothing stands in the way of your divine tennis holiday! Enjoy this behind-the-scenes look!
Those who follow our social media channels may already know: TennisTraveller owner Susanne is embarking on a journey herself, and not to one of the many beautiful TennisTraveller hotels, but on the Road to Manavgat , a tennis trip back to the competitive stage. And this after a 20-year hiatus from tournament tennis. The older, the bolder, one might say. I would rather say: even at over 50, there are still sporting challenges to be had! The first major challenge is coming up at the end of March in Manavgat, Turkey. The 23rd International Wilson Masters Open take place at the Ali Bey Club Manavgat, for which I registered at the end of last year. At the MT1000 ITF Seniors tournament, I will be competing in the Women's Singles W50 and the Mixed Doubles. But of course, the tournament isn't the only challenge awaiting me. After such a long break from tournaments and training, there are challenges almost every day, both on and off the tennis court, some small, some bigger. Over the coming weeks, I'd like to take you along on my very personal Road to Manavgat. I'll share everything that occupies my mind, what I enjoy, and yes, even what frustrates me. Because I'm sure some of you are curious why someone in their early fifties would want to get back into competitive tennis so seriously. That's what I want to talk about first. Let the journey begin!
Aldiana Club Ampflwang as part of a FAM trip . While I'm already familiar with many of our TennisTraveller underwent extensive renovations last year , including the addition of a new padel court and pickleball court , I was incredibly excited for my short stay. And I wasn't disappointed, as the club offers a wide range of activities for tennis players, racket sports enthusiasts, outdoor sports lovers, nature lovers, and wellness aficionados. You can find out exactly what you can expect at the club, both in terms of sports and, of course, culinary delights, in my personal travel report .
Come along with me to the Hausruck Forest!
In our new section "TRIPLE T - TennisTraveller Tests," we'll be regularly testing new products from Tennis Warehouse Europe, our new partner. From rackets and shoes to bags, strings, and tennis apparel. We're kicking things off today with the K-Swiss Express Light 3 , a lightweight women's indoor tennis shoe with a carpet sole, ideal for recreational and amateur players who want a light, comfortable feel and good grip on carpet. The shoe's vibrant color scheme immediately caught my eye as soon as I unpacked it. Finally, a tennis shoe that isn't so boring – finally, something colorful and eye-catching in chic black, mint, and pink! While design is important, what matters most is how the shoe performs on the court. I tested the shoe for you based on various criteria. And of course, you can look forward to my personal review of the shoe! So, let's get started!
