We are delighted to continue our partnership with Nicolas Kiefer and Andreas Riediger 's NK-4 tournament series We think the European Fast-4 Tennis Race is fantastic, appealing to players of all levels as well as organizers. We are equally impressed by the passionate commitment of the two founders, who are constantly developing the tournament series with tremendous dedication. I interviewed Nicolas Kiefer, a former professional tennis player with six ATP Tour titles and a silver medalist at the 2004 Athens Olympics, about his motivations for launching a new tournament series. Find out why the tournament format is so much fun, especially on vacation, and what memorable moments "Kiwi" has experienced at tournaments. Of course, you'll also learn all the essential details about the tournament series and what you, as a player or organizer, can expect from these exciting events.
Our last TennisTraveller exclusive camp of 2024 was another absolute camp highlight! Under the motto "Tennis ON FIRE," we were guests at the Hotel zum Mohren in Reutte, Tyrol, from November 14th to 17th, 2024. The participants were certainly on fire during the three-day tennis training with Pro Tennisschool, led by Andreas Gerstgrasser and myself. Things really heated up during the cardio tennis sessions, which had everyone sweating profusely and created a great atmosphere, but also some sore muscles. But that wasn't all: we also put together a wonderful, "hot" program of activities off the court. The camp was timed to coincide perfectly with one of Reutte's biggest event highlights. We rocked out at the opening of "Reutte on Ice" LuMagica at Ehrenberg Castle on opening day, and enjoyed a gourmet menu with wine pairings at the hotel. All in all, another truly special exclusive camp that all participants thoroughly enjoyed. And just like in the previous exclusive camps, we were a wonderful group, had lots to talk about and laugh about – we were practically always "ON FIRE". You can read all about what that was like during the four days of camp, and what we experienced, in my travel report here. The excellent feedback from the participants was a huge hit with the hotel, the Pro Tennis School, and of course, me!
Reducing pain with a small patch – is that even possible? To be honest, that was my first thought when Torsten told me about SuperPatches. But the more detailed his explanation of how the patches work, the more intrigued I became. Non-invasive and drug-free pain relief makes perfect sense to me, especially compared to taking painkillers. SuperPatches are designed to positively support and influence various areas through tactile stimulation. There are not only pain patches, but a total of 12 different SuperPatches to enhance performance and well-being. In my interview with Torsten Bonacker , you'll learn how SuperPatches work, where and how they are used, and why they might be particularly interesting for us tennis players. And of course, we couldn't leave out the self-test and our personal conclusion about the product. Since we're introducing SuperPatches to you here and now, you'd be absolutely right to assume that we gave them a thumbs up. Intrigued now? Then keep reading – enjoy!
It is a great pleasure and honor for us to introduce you to Dr. Sebastian Altfeld, our new mental expert . Sebastian is a sports psychologist and psychotherapist who supports various competitive and professional athletes from different sports in dealing with performance pressure, stress, and high demands. "Performing when conditions aren't optimal" and "be comfortable to feel uncomfortable" are his mottos. In the interview, you'll learn more about Sebastian, typical stressful situations in tennis, and how you can cope with them. Sebastian is also the co-developer of the online program Ready2Perform , which we'll briefly introduce in the interview. We are convinced that this program will help you improve your skills in handling pressure, not just in tennis. We are very much looking forward to working with Sebastian on many more mental topics for you in the future. Because no matter your level: mental strength is so important!
Off to sunny climes for a tennis holiday at the end of October! Our Aldiana Travelscout winner, Paula, had been looking forward to this since July. In July, Paula won Aldiana Club Djerba Atlantide METZINGEN OPEN 2024 , the $15,000 ITF tournament in Metzingen, Swabia Together with her tennis-playing friend, she then headed off to warmer climes in Djerba. Not only did sunshine and wonderfully pleasant temperatures await them, but also 12 clay courts, delicious all-inclusive meals, and a huge range of sports and relaxation activities. The two students were thrilled with the diverse options at the club and experienced a tennis holiday straight out of 1001 Nights , one that they will remember for a long time! What the two experienced on and off the tennis court during their week-long tennis holiday, and how Paula rates the club and everything surrounding it, can be found in Paula's detailed travel report, complete with beautiful photos! Thank you, Paula, for your fantastic and comprehensive feedback! And a huge thank you goes to Aldiana , who provided us with this tennis holiday week.
vibration dampeners on the market, and everyone probably has their own preferences. Vibration dampeners generally reduce string vibrations, making the ball impact quieter and protecting your arm and joints in the long run. We asked Andreas Maurer, formerly ranked No. 24 in the ATP world rankings and a German Davis Cup player alongside Boris Becker, whether he prefers a dampener and if he has any advice for you.
Tennis & Golf – this was the motto of the TennisTraveller exclusive camp at the Aktivhotel Marko on Lake Klopein in Carinthia from October 2nd to 6th, 2024. The international participation of the campers demonstrated the great interest in both the theme and the destination. They traveled from Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. This also shows that our camp philosophy of constantly changing camp focuses and destinations is a resounding success. Even though the weather in Carinthia was far from ideal, we had a very varied time with plenty of tennis, golf, other activities, and great conversations. The international, diverse group of tennis travelers turned out to be a truly fun-loving bunch who defied the bad weather with high spirits and plenty of humor! And all this in a host hotel where we felt completely at ease. You can read all about what the five camp days were like and what we experienced in our travel report here. The excellent feedback from participants delighted the hotel, the Klopeiner See Tennis School, and me in particular!
I'm an advanced beginner and don't really know much about strings or string tension. Which string, which type of string, and what average string tension do you recommend? Should one also consider age and gender?
