Like few others, Raphael Schmidt embodies the two core areas of our TennisTraveller – tennis and travel. As a Lufthansa pilot, he travels throughout Europe week after week and has been an avid tennis player since childhood. Tennis fascinates and engages him not only as an active team player but also in many different ways. Whether as youth coordinator at his club or as co-organizer of the Mischa Zverev Club Tour , Raphael's goal is to bring tennis to people and inspire them. And he achieves this perfectly and very successfully with Mischa Zverev, with whom he has been close friends for years, through the Club Tour. In this interview, we naturally talk about this event tour at German tennis clubs, but also about much more. A conversation with a TennisTraveller par excellence!
Over the Pentecost weekend, our NK 4 travel scout Klaus and his family stayed at the Strandhotel Fischland on the Baltic Sea . He enjoyed three nights at the five-star hotel in the Dierhagen seaside resort: a beautiful holiday apartment, fantastic wellness and sports facilities, delicious food, wonderfully warm and attentive service, and of course, the stunning beach right outside the hotel. But that wasn't all: Klaus participated in the Baltic Sea Cup, the hotel's first NK 4 tournament, which he promptly won! As an added highlight, on the last day, Klaus's son had the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive training session with Nicolas Kiefer, the initiator of the NK 4 tournament series. What a unique tennis holiday experience for this tennis-loving family! Klaus sent us a fantastic report with many photos. Seventeen-year-old David from southern Germany will soon be packing his bags for the three-day Keystone Sports College Tennis Showcase in Leverkusen July 11th to 13th, 2025. He's our wildcard winner he's won free participation. A top-class tennis highlight will return to Troisdorf in 2025: the Ladies NRW International tennis tournament, taking place from June 2nd to 8th, promises world-class women's tennis at the beautiful RW Troisdorf facility. A total prize purse of US$50,000 is up for grabs, and the winner will earn 50 WTA world ranking points. This makes the Ladies NRW International the largest and most prestigious women's tennis tournament in North Rhine-Westphalia. Organizers Marc Raffel and Marc-Kevin Goellner are looking forward not only to exciting matches and high-caliber women's tennis, but also to the fantastic tournament atmosphere and the diverse supporting program throughout the week.

NK-4 meets Strandhotel Fischland on Pentecost Sunday, June 8, 2025. On this day, the Strandhotel Fischland in the Baltic Sea resort of Dierhagen will host the NK-4 Baltic Sea Cup , the first NK-4 tournament for adults and seniors . Short sets to 4, no ad, no let, and at least two matches per player promise plenty of fun and excitement! Anyone can participate, regardless of club membership; guests are expressly welcome. The NK-4 Baltic Sea Cup will be something truly special, as Nicolas Kiefer, former professional tennis player with six ATP Tour titles and a silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics, will be there in person. He will oversee the tournament alongside the local organizer and, of course, be available for questions and a friendly chat about tennis. Furthermore, there will be an exclusive star training session with Kiwi on Pentecost Monday.
