As part of our padel special, we don't just want to introduce you to the most important things about equipment, technique, tactics, and court construction. We've already covered that in our three detailed blog posts. We also want to give our partners a chance to speak. Among them are several people who have been involved in the sport for a long time and can therefore offer valuable recommendations and expert insights. First up is Torsten Bonacker, Marketing Communications Manager at Dunlop . We asked him which padel products Dunlop manufactures, what personally fascinates him about the sport, and how he assesses the current padel boom in Germany. And finally, Torsten will present his "Best of Three" padel products.
We hope you enjoy these interesting and very personal padel insights!
In our 2022 Advent calendar, behind door number 20, we had hidden 4-day tennis camp at the PMTR Tennis Academy our autumn camp travel scout – perfectly timed for the start of the indoor season. Jens tells us exactly what daily life at PMTR was like in his detailed camp report. Like all reports from our travel scouts, we are more than happy to publish Jens's report as well. His report is particularly special because, as a player "of advanced tennis age (50+)," Jens really enjoyed training with the young players at the professional camp. He rose to the challenge, gave it his all, and draws a thoroughly positive conclusion from his "camp adventure." Thank you, Jens, for your feedback, and we wish you all the best and continued success!
All good things come in threes! After learning in parts one and two of our padel special what padel is, what equipment you need, where the sport comes from, and what technical and tactical elements it contains, we now continue with part three, the final part of our padel special for now. Today you'll learn what you should consider and keep in mind when building a padel court . These are questions that many tennis clubs are currently grappling with. Our padel expert, Yannik Mann, most important decision criteria for you . From planning and construction to maintenance and the not insignificant question of costs. And, of course, Yannik will also answer the question of whether building a padel court is "worth it."
Small but mighty – that perfectly describes the TRIGGIN Trigger Button . It's also a perfect fit for us TennisTraveller , because it's small, portable, and incredibly easy to use. And now for the most important thing: the Trigger Button can from painful muscle tension . And we all suffer from that far too often, don't we? The Trigger Button is practically a "physio-to-go" and therefore invaluable, not just when traveling. We took a closer look at the Trigger Button and the startup behind it, TRIGGIN, known from the German TV show "Die Höhle der Löwen" (Shark Tank). Of course, we also tested the Trigger Button ourselves and will tell you whether we're now completely relaxed!
And last but not least, we also want to encourage you to try triggering and hopefully "relax" by giving away three TRIGGIN bundles, each consisting of two trigger buttons and a roll of tape, until November 1st, 2023. This way you can test how the little button works for you!
Perfectly timed with our current padel special, we're thrilled to announce some fantastic news. Our partner Dunlop has entered into a strategic alliance with the Italian padel court specialist Favaretti. What we find particularly exciting is that this alliance has already resulted in a finished product: the "Favaretti Powered by Dunlop" padel court . Besides being made from the highest quality materials, it boasts a stunning design branded in Dunlop's signature colors. It's incredibly stylish, and the blue grass surface is identical to that used on the World Padel Tour. But the court itself isn't the only perk. Dunlop is offering a special starter kit to every buyer. All four different starter kits are valued at €4,000 and include rackets, balls, bags, training equipment, and much more, depending on your choice.
So, take a look at this chic new padel court from Dunlop & Favaretti!
The clay court season is slowly but surely drawing to a close, and as always, we're incredibly curious! Where did you spend your tennis holidays over the past few months? We want to know, because we're sure to get lots of recommendations from you that are extremely valuable for our TennisTraveller community. And as you know us, there's a little reward for your recommendations. It's not a small reward, though, because we'll select one Travelscout from all the recommendations for the wonderful Sonnenhof tennis hotel in Lam in the Bavarian Forest . There, you and a friend can look forward to a short break with tennis, plenty of wellness, and culinary highlights. On top of that, you'll also receive a spacious YONEX travel bag , perfect for packing for any tennis holiday!
So simply tell us by Sunday, October 15, 2023 , where you spent a fantastic tennis holiday in recent months. And presto, you'll be entered into the draw and, with a little luck, could soon be in "heaven" in the Bavarian Forest!
In part two of our padel special, we're focusing on stroke technique and tactics . For those who don't yet know what a Salida, Contra Pared, x3, or Bandeja is, our padel expert Yannik Mann shed some light on the subject. From the serve to groundstrokes, the lob, drop shot, or overhead smash – for all the different padel strokes and variations, we have a short video alongside the explanation. This way, you can see how each stroke works and is played. And for the padel experts among you – or those who aspire to be – Yannik has an absolutely invaluable tactical tip . It's not just about brute force; smart padel is key. And that's quite different from tennis in many ways. That's why it's so important to approach the game correctly, both technically and tactically.
Enjoy our second part! After this, everyone should know that a Chiquita in the context of paddling doesn't refer to a banana!
Hooray, our padel special is starting! Dive into this trendy sport, which is currently experiencing explosive growth across Germany. Together with our padel expert Yannik Mann , we'll present the most important information about padel in three parts. From equipment and rules to technique and tactics, and even where you can play padel or find out more about court construction.
We're thrilled to have Yannik, one of the leading padel experts, on board for our special event. Yannik will introduce you to the world of padel, answer all your padel questions, and warns you now: it's highly addictive! So let's get started!
