The book title alone, "Are You Still Playing Real Tennis or Are You Already Winning Something?", piqued my curiosity. When I then read the subtitle of Heinz Schwarz's debut work, "A Theory of Relativity on the Tennis-Teaching Joke of 'Real Tennis'," there was only one thing to do: open the book and start reading. And that's exactly what I did during my summer vacation on the beach, without a single break. The 132 pages that the Austrian-born, now Bavarian-based tennis coach has written about the sense or nonsense of "real tennis" are truly entertaining. The author rather rebelliously questions the teaching methods of many of his colleagues who train the average tennis player. The book explores why and how "average tennis players" should be trained to ultimately get the most out of them, or at least approach their full potential. And he does so in a way that often made me smile under the Corsican sun!

Preparations for the Rhein Asset Open, the ATP Challenger tournament on the Rhine and Ruhr rivers from August 7th to 14th, 2022 at the TeReMeer in Meerbusch, are in full swing. Tennis entrepreneur and tournament organizer Marc Raffel has his hands full. He is particularly pleased with the new player registrations. While the fields of recent years have always been strong, a very special player has now announced his participation in the Rhein Asset Open in Meerbusch. Jan-Lennart Struff, the 32-year-old Davis Cup star and long-time Germany's number two behind Alexander Zverev, has officially registered and is one of the highlights of the tournament, which will be held in Meerbusch for the tenth time this year.

Great tennis before the heavy rain. The singles final of the first Saturn Oil Open was moved forward an hour to 1 p.m. due to the critical weather forecast. And that was exactly the right decision, because the heavy rain started immediately after the atmospheric awards ceremony. Before that, qualifier Lukas Klein (SVK) had set his sights on his first ATP title with an incredibly strong performance against the favored Belgian tennis hopeful Zizou Bergs.
