"If you truly love your sport, you must study its history ." This quote from Roger Federer was likely Christian Albrecht Barschel's motivation for writing the tennis book "A Year on the Court - 365 Exciting Stories from the World of Tennis ." 288 pages packed with interesting, funny, and curious anecdotes and stories from the tennis world of the last 50 years. Very entertainingly written. A book that will delight die-hard tennis fans. Because it brings back memories of tennis matches we followed back in the day. Or simply makes us marvel and smile. I embarked on this tennis year-long journey for you and officially declare myself a "tennis nerd."
Today we have something for your ears! It's the tennis podcast "Kleines Tennis" (Little Tennis) by and with Stephan Simann. Because there aren't just great tennis books, but also super exciting, informative, and entertaining tennis podcasts. It's a different format that breathes life into areas of tennis that are sometimes neglected in reporting and the "literary" world. And Stephan focuses precisely on one such area of tennis in his podcast "Kleines Tennis": amateur tennis. Find out why he created the podcast, how his shows work, and who he definitely wants to have in front of the microphone in my interview with him.
Preparations for the Rhein Asset Open , the ATP Challenger tournament on the Rhine and Ruhr from August 8th to 15th, 2021 at the TeReMeer in Meerbusch, are in full swing. Tennis entrepreneur and tournament organizer Marc Raffel is extremely busy. He is particularly pleased with the number of participants. Daniel Altmaier, currently playing in top form, will be competing in Meerbusch, as will Pedro Sousa, Robin Haase, Dustin Brown, Mischa Zverev, and many other renowned tennis professionals. We are also very much looking forward to the upcoming tournament, especially since, as in previous years, we are once again a proud tournament partner and are giving away a fantastic travel prize before and during the tournament: short break at the exclusive Forte Village Resort in Sardinia
