Fast feet and plenty of power are all well and good, but they only lead to real success with good flexibility! But let's be honest: flexibility is practically ignored in (ambitious) amateur tennis training, both on and off the court in fitness workouts. People stretch here and there, but without a concrete plan and usually without much benefit. And yet, flexibility benefits you not only on the tennis court but also in your everyday life. You become more mobile, flexible, and supple, and can certainly prevent injuries. It's no wonder that yoga and Pilates are becoming increasingly popular.
Fast feet – often a key to success on the tennis court. Some are naturally quicker than others. But regardless, speed, like anything else, can be trained and improved. For us tennis players, those first steps are crucial – they should be small and quick. To get your legs moving, we'll introduce you to five exercises that specifically target those first steps. Forward, backward, and sideways – that's what we need!
Become Speedy Gonzales on the tennis court!

Strength training is important for everyone in tennis because it protects us from injuries. Tennis is a repetitive, arrhythmic sport with constant starting and stopping movements. This puts a strain on the bones – quite literally. Therefore, we need to strengthen our bodies and build muscle. In recent years, bodyweight training has proven effective, using only your own body weight or very small hand-held equipment. Depending on your fitness level, you can work with small weights such as dumbbells, water bottles, resistance bands, etc.
One thing we TennisTraveller have in common is our love and passion for tennis. To pursue this passion with full enthusiasm and joy on our tennis trips, we need to stay fit. And since many of you will likely be attending a tennis camp over Easter, it's high time to start working on your fitness. Over the next few weeks, we'll be giving you some suggestions on how to improve your speed, agility, strength, and endurance. So get off the couch and into training!
Our search for a Mediterranean travel scout couldn't have come at a better time: with the cold weather, many of you TennisTraveller for sun, (tennis) sand, and sea, and the response was fantastic! Our travel scout Amrei from Munich can look forward to a week of pure tennis! We congratulate Amrei most sincerely! She hasn't yet decided whether she'd prefer to fly to the Bluesun Grand Hotel Elaphusa or to the Ali Bey Club tennis resort in Manavgat, Turkey. But I'm sure Amrei will make the right choice and enjoy a wonderful week of tennis with her companion.
