With my eyes and ears wide open, I'm always on the lookout for truly special and interesting TennisTraveller . Not only do I enjoy interviewing our hoteliers and camp organizers , but I'm also interested in people who are connected to tennis and travel in some unique way. With Lara Kinzel from LOVE:40 , I've found just such a person, because Lara creates travel accessories from tennis court covers—covers that have already served their purpose at various tennis facilities.
Unexpected things often happen – that's what you call it when you're introduced to two tennis world record holders one evening without any prior notice. This is exactly what happened during my Mallorca trip at the ROBINSON Club Cala Serena . There I had the pleasure of meeting the Soysal brothers, Tony and Erkan . Two truly tennis-mad globetrotters who, just a few weeks ago, set another tennis world record in the Schnalstal valley in South Tyrol. But more on that in a moment. In any case, I absolutely have to tell you about these two tennis stars.
What a joy – for 11-year-old Alina from the greater Stuttgart area, it's almost Christmas already! Alina's dad, Mirko, entered our competition and never expected to win the 4-day New Year's camp at the PMTR Tennis Academy in Mülheim an der Ruhr for his talented and tennis-loving daughter.
Uwe Schumann and the entire PMTR Tennis Academy team have a real Christmas holiday special for you and your young tennis players: a 4-day New Year's tennis camp from January 2nd to 5th, 2019 at the tennis academy for children and teenagers aged 4-18, plus 4 nights for 2 people at the B&B Hotel Mülheim in the heart of the beautiful Ruhr area.
The intensive junior tennis camp days for everyone involved at the Alexander Waske Tennis Academy are over – time to take stock. Of course, we don't want to keep that from you. Our youngest's muscle soreness has subsided, and our oldest has mostly recovered from her bad cold and is already back hitting balls diligently. So, what were the highs and lows of the four days of junior tennis camp? Let's get started!
The search for our Garda travel scout at the Le Balze tennis hotel was successful: Raphaela from Münster is our travel scout and will be testing the beautifully situated Le Balze tennis hotel in Tremosine for us for four days in 2019, including a three-day tennis camp with the GO-TENNISURLAUB tennis school . We congratulate Raphaela most sincerely! She was, of course, thrilled, and we're eager to find out when and with whom she'll embark on her tennis trip. And, of course, what her travel scout opinion will be afterward!
A huge thank you to all TennisTraveller who applied to be Travelscouts again in such large numbers on our website, Facebook, and Instagram! There were so many lovely and funny applications! And as a little consolation prize, we'll be giving away two more camp and Travelscout stays in 2018. So stay tuned to the TennisTraveller community!

Unfortunately, we still had a patient today – our older player is still unwell, so I prescribed a rest day for her. Since this was already apparent yesterday, the training plan for day 4 at the Alexander Waske Tennis University was quickly changed . André Stenger, the junior head coach, rearranged the training so that our younger player had an extra-long session of 2.5 hours. Fantastic, especially since a coach at the university was also out sick! Incidentally, such long sessions are a regular occurrence here – after all, long matches can easily go that far.
Yesterday's fitness session was intense: strength training was on the agenda. First with small dumbbells, then on the versatile equipment of the Kempinski fitness room, the kids trained diligently and gave it their all. This morning, they were definitely feeling the effects of the workout. After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, they headed to the Kempinski Hotel at 11:00 a.m. for their first two-hour training session as part of the Junior Tennis Camp at the Alexander Waske Tennis University with junior coach Ivana.
A restful night's sleep, a delicious breakfast at the hotel, and then it was off again to the Kempinski Hotel for the first training session at the Junior Tennis Camp at the Alexander Waske Tennis University at 9 a.m. The two young tennis players were a bit tired, but after a 30-minute warm-up, they were back in action.
With the trunk packed to the brim, we set off from Stuttgart at 8:30 a.m. towards Frankfurt-Neu Isenburg for the 4-day junior tennis camp at the Alexander Waske Tennis University . The first training session for our two tennis-loving kids was scheduled to start at 1 p.m. We cruised the 250 km north without a hitch – surprisingly and happily, without any traffic jams. This left us with a good 1.5 hours to spare at our destination, the Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt, which we spent relaxing in the elegant spa lounge.
