Unfortunately, we still had a patient today – our older player is still unwell, so I prescribed a rest day for her. Since this was already apparent yesterday, the training plan for day 4 at the Alexander Waske Tennis University was quickly changed. André Stenger, the junior head coach, rearranged the training so that our younger player had an extra-long session of 2.5 hours. Fantastic, especially since a coach at the university was also out sick! Incidentally, such long sessions are a regular occurrence here – after all, long matches can easily go that far.
Yesterday's fitness session was intense: strength training was on the agenda. First with small dumbbells, then on the versatile equipment of the Kempinski fitness room, the kids trained diligently and gave it their all. This morning, they were definitely feeling the effects of the workout. After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, they headed to the Kempinski Hotel at 11:00 a.m. for their first two-hour training session as part of the Junior Tennis Camp at the Alexander Waske Tennis University with junior coach Ivana.
A restful night's sleep, a delicious breakfast at the hotel, and then it was off again to the Kempinski Hotel for the first training session at the Junior Tennis Camp at the Alexander Waske Tennis University at 9 a.m. The two young tennis players were a bit tired, but after a 30-minute warm-up, they were back in action.
With the trunk packed to the brim, we set off from Stuttgart at 8:30 a.m. towards Frankfurt-Neu Isenburg for the 4-day junior tennis camp at the Alexander Waske Tennis University. The first training session for our two tennis-loving kids was scheduled to start at 1 p.m. We cruised the 250 km north without a hitch – surprisingly and happily, without any traffic jams. This left us with a good 1.5 hours to spare at our destination, the Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt, which we spent relaxing in the elegant spa lounge.
Good things should be repeated – that's what we, as a tennis family, thought after the Easter tennis camp in March 2017 at the Schüttler-Waske Tennis Academy. And it didn't stop at just thinking it, so next week I'll be heading towards Offenbach, or more precisely, Frankfurt-Gravenbruch, with two of our children.
Four days of intensive training , and just like during our last visit, you can follow the daily camp life via our camp diary - not quite live, but almost, and with plenty of sound, text, and color!
At the end of September, the time had finally come: Andreas, who had won our week-long research stay at the ROBINSON Club Djerba Bahiya , flew to the Tunisian island with his daughter. Did the stay turn out to be a tennis dream vacation straight out of 1001 Nights for our two club testers ? Of course, we don't want to deprive you of their lovely travel report with some photos. They certainly had a fantastic week, and we're absolutely delighted!

Have you heard of the Tennis Brothers ? No? Then you're just like me until the IsarOpen last August. The Tennis Brothers, like our TennisTraveller tournament partner, were part of the new ATP Challenger tournament at the TC Großhesselohe club near Munich. Felix, 15, and Lucian, 12 – the two Tennis Brothers – stayed in Munich with their parents, Liz and Michael, for the entire tournament week. They gained insights into tournament life and also spent plenty of time on the court themselves, sparring with great partners and filming videos. I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely tennis family from London and interviewing them about their activities and their lives as very special TennisTraveller . And since their dad, Michael, is German, we conducted the interview in German.
For the very first time, our TennisTravellersummer holiday Brennseehof tennis hotel in Feld am See, Carinthia, as our destination and enjoyed a fantastic week there with the perfect mix of relaxation and sports activities, only slightly marred by the bad weather. After a short cultural trip to Vienna, we all arrived at Brennsee, full of anticipation, and were immediately impressed by the hotel's stunning location. The Brennseehof is situated directly on the small Brennsee lake, separated only by a spacious lawn. The tennis courts and the lakeside wellness pavilion with its various pools and outdoor saunas are also located in front of the hotel.
