At the end of September, the time had finally come: Andreas, who had won ROBINSON Club Djerba Bahiya a tennis dream vacation straight out of 1001 Nights ? Of course, we don't want to deprive you of their lovely travel report with some photos. They certainly had a fantastic week, and we're absolutely delighted!
Compared to other ROBINSON Clubs, the one on Djerba is significantly smaller in terms of floor space. However, this was only really noticeable in a few details. For example, there's no outdoor amphitheater, but "only" an indoor theater beneath the main bar. Nevertheless, there were several very entertaining performances featuring singing and, above all, excellent dance shows of various kinds.
of sports facilities either. The three beach volleyball courts right by the beach were very popular. The Robins seemed to play a tournament against a selection of guests once a week. This tournament covered various sports; besides beach volleyball, there were also competitions in water polo and archery.
But for us tennis players, the main focus was certainly the sports bar with its 7 tennis courts, 2 of which have floodlights , which is a great advantage given the still quite high temperatures at the end of September, if you don't want to sweat in the sun.
I can definitely the ; after all, I was able to play on four different courts myself. Inside the sports bar, guests could sign up to play with other players. There were also get-togethers where you could quickly meet new people and arrange to play the following day.
weekly tournament was supposed to be a highlight . Unfortunately, the very strong wind thwarted our plans that day. While most of the matches took place as scheduled, under those conditions we had at least two opponents at once: the person opposite us and the wind, which regularly deflected the ball significantly from its intended trajectory. As a result, the entire tournament ended much earlier than planned. At least the weather returned to normal for the finals.
Since it rained heavily one day during that week, it was a good opportunity to try out the fitness area . ROBINSON offers high-quality equipment , allowing for a very effective workout of most muscle groups. A small highlight was the view of the two tennis courts , meaning that even while weight training, one could watch the tennis players when the weather was dry.
Otherwise, there were various fitness classes on offer, which are usually attended mostly by women, although "courageous" men have occasionally joined in.
The food was truly plentiful in selection and of good quality, be it the appetizers, the varied main courses in the restaurant or the extensive dessert selection – nothing was lacking!
All in all, it was a really nice week with many pleasant acquaintances, and the staff were always friendly and helpful.
