"Tennis & Culinary Delights in Carinthia" series , featuring the kitchens of our Carinthian tennis hotels, is today's stop at the Parkhotel Pörtschach on Lake Wörthersee. This traditional hotel, situated directly on the lake, impresses with its unique combination of classic 1960s retro design and modern chic. The kitchen also offers a wonderful mix of classic and typical Carinthian dishes and creations. We are especially pleased that the head chef not only answered our questions about Slow Food and Alpine-Adriatic cuisine but also shared one of the most classic Carinthian recipes with us to try at home: Carinthian Reindling. Enjoy this (for now) final culinary excursion to Carinthia. And bon appétit for the Carinthian Reindling!
Over Easter, on our way to Croatia, we stopped in Carinthia and spent two nights at the Parkhotel Pörtschach on the beautiful Lake Wörthersee. This traditional hotel, celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, is one of THE hotel institutions on Lake Wörthersee. Unlike many other hotels, this four-star superior hotel has managed to combine the retro flair of the 1960s with thoroughly modern elements. Today, the hotel offers a truly special ambiance, which completely captivated us during our two-day stay. Added to this is the unique peninsula location with its large hotel park right on the lake . You can read about our experiences in and around the hotel in my travel report.
Come along with us for a short time to the Parkhotel Pörtschach on Lake Wörthersee!

Open the kitchen door at the Brennseehof in Feld am See, Carinthia! As part of our special feature "Tennis & Culinary Delights in Carinthia," Brennseehof's head chef, Joshua Mitterer, takes us on a culinary journey and explains how the hotel implements the principles of Slow Food, regionality, and sustainability, bringing them to your plate. The hotel's own permaculture garden plays a key role in this. The chef draws culinary inspiration from the Alps-Adriatic region, which will delight TennisTraveller Joshua's recipe is traditional yet reinterpreted : the very healthy Ritschert , a dish as synonymous with Carinthia as strawberries and cream are with Wimbledon. And the special part: Joshua will also provide you with a vegetarian version of Ritschert.
We hope you enjoy this culinary excursion to the Brennseehof and bon appétit!
When Lukas Klein (SVK) surprised everyone by winning the inaugural Saturn Oil Open at the end of May last year, organizer Marc Raffel, co-tournament director Marc-Kevin Goellner, and the team from the host club TC RW-Troisdorf eV – Uwe Maaß, Volker de Cloedt, and Claus Dreser – began preparations for the second edition of ATP Tennis on the Rhine & Sieg . This event will take place from May 28th to June 4th, 2023, once again at the beautiful tennis facility of TC RW. In addition to the men's competition, there will also be a women's competition for the first time, as a so-called combined event. "Tournaments of this type – such as those at Grand Slams – are particularly interesting for spectators," says organizer Marc Raffel, "however, they also present us organizers with an enormous logistical challenge."
We at TennisTraveller also participating as a tournament partner in the second edition , are extremely happy about it and have a fantastic travel prize in tow.

A week of tennis vacation at the Vitality Hotel Punta on the Croatian island of Lošinj has come to an end. During this week, Tom completed a 5-day intensive camp at the Ljubicic Tennis Academy , which we documented with daily blog posts in our Camp Diary. This should give you a good idea of what such an intensive camp is like. Of course, what would a return be complete without a conclusion and a review of the camp, the academy, and, naturally, the tennis hotel? With this review, we're writing the final chapter of the Camp Diary. The diary is now closed, but unforgettable memories will remain.
Read it for yourselves!
