It's always a great pleasure for me to personally visit the TennisTraveller hotels recommended by our TennisTraveller community. So far, I've always been able to rely on your recommendations, and I'm sure that will continue to be the case. That's how our platform works, and all tennis travelers benefit from it. Even during my short visit to the Trans World Hotel Kranichhöhe in Much in the Bergisches Land region near Cologne, I experienced firsthand how our community spirit and your "evaluation criteria" for a good and attractive tennis hotel work.
Let us take you on a quick tour of the Trans World Hotel Kranichhöhe – a true tennis hidden gem just outside Cologne . And from here, we'll soon have some fantastic TennisTraveller news. Stay tuned!
The drive to the idyllic Bergisches Land region from Stuttgart was no problem for us. Leaving the motorway, we followed the German Avenue Road to Much. There, on the edge of an industrial area, lies the four-star Trans World Hotel Much . You wouldn't know it's the industrial area at all – the hotel is completely secluded and surrounded on three sides by forest, meadows, and unspoiled nature. The reception staff were very friendly, and we were able to check into our lovely, comfortable room right away. Bright and cheerful decor and a wonderful welcome gift of fruit and small treats made our arrival perfect.

with the hotel director, Natalie Wisser, on the beautiful hotel terrace and taking a tour of the hotel. Incidentally, Natalie Wisser is a true tennis enthusiast – simply perfect for us TennisTraveller , as the boss here understands what's important to tennis players.
The hotel consists of several buildings: the hotel wing with 107 rooms , the lovely "Verde" restaurant where breakfast and dinner are served. At lunchtime you can also eat à la carte here, or enjoy delicious coffee and cake in the afternoon.

A short walk through the courtyard leads to the sports area, where you'll find the 3-court indoor tennis hall (with carpeted surface). It's the perfect place to practice, either individually or with a coach. You can also book the "Kranichhöhe Tennis Days" package here. Unfortunately, the hotel no longer has clay courts. But that's no problem, as you can use the nearby clay courts of the Much Tennis Club during the summer.

Right next to the tennis hall is the spacious and bright gym with strength and cardio equipment. Fitness classes are offered throughout the week in the separate, large fitness room. Both gym use and participation in the fitness classes are free for hotel guests. So you can really work up a sweat here. Another wing of the hotel houses various seminar rooms, which are particularly popular with companies during the week.
Directly connected to the main building is the wellness area with a beautiful swimming pool , a relaxation area, and a sauna complex on the first floor featuring a Finnish sauna , a bio sauna , and a steam room . There is also a relaxation area, a charming little kitchenette, and a lovely balcony where you can enjoy some fresh air.

After the hotel tour, we treated ourselves to some rest in the wellness area - just what we needed after three great but also strenuous days in Paris at Roland Garros.
We had booked our stay with half-board , so we received a warm welcome in the Restaurant Verde each evening. A buffet is offered on Fridays and Saturdays, while a three-course menu is served on all other days. We were delighted by the delicious appetizer and salad buffet, as well as the barbecue buffet, where meat and vegetables were prepared on a large grill on the terrace. The dessert buffet was also varied and delicious, making for a thoroughly enjoyable dinner with very friendly and attentive service.
Instead of the cozy hotel bar, we opted for our hotel room and the night session at Roland Garros. True TennisTraveller !
After a good night's sleep in very comfortable beds, we set off for a jog . The area around the hotel is perfect for a run: lovely concrete and dirt paths, complete peace and quiet, and beautiful views. It's simply wonderful to run there – even if the rather hilly terrain made us sweat quite a bit early in the morning. Refreshed and content, we then went to breakfast. The breakfast buffet had everything we needed – delicious coffee and warm, friendly service from the staff. We also appreciate that check-out is possible until 12 noon – it allows for a completely stress-free and relaxed departure.
Unfortunately, after just one night we had to say goodbye, as we were off to Troisdorf for the ATP Challenger tournament SATURN OIL Open 2023, where we were a tournament partner.
And I can already reveal this much to you today: at the Trans World Hotel Kranichhöhe this year. We can't tell you any more about it today. But we'll reveal the secret very soon. And you can really look forward to it!
