NK-4 meets Kranichhöhe - Nicolas Kiefer's European Fast-4 Tennis Race makes a stop at the Trans World Hotel Kranichhöhe in Much near Cologne

NK-4 meets Kranichhöhe on Sunday, March 30, 2025. On this day, the first NK-4 tournament for children, teenagers, and adults , the NK-4 TWH Cup , will take place in the tennis hall of the Trans World Hotel Kranichhöhe Much, just outside Cologne. Short sets to 4, no ad, no let, and at least two matches per player promise lots of fun and excitement! Anyone can participate, regardless of club membership; guests are expressly welcome. The NK-4 TWH Cup will be something truly special, as Nicolas Kiefer, former professional tennis player with six ATP Tour titles and a silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics, will be there in person. He will be involved with the local organizer and, of course, available for questions and a friendly chat about tennis. For me, this tournament is also very special: bringing two partners together and creating something new is a great joy! And so today I'd like to give you a little insight into why the NK-4 tournament format is perfectly suited not only for clubs, but especially for tennis hotels. I'll be discussing this in an interview with Nathalie Wisser, the tennis-enthusiastic managing director of the Trans World Hotel Kranichhöhe in Much .

 Ms. Wisser, please briefly introduce yourself and your Trans World Hotel Kranichhöhe

Hello, my name is Nathalie and I am the managing director of the three Trans World Hotels in Germany. I am based at the Trans World Hotel Kranichhöhe in Much, about 35 km from Cologne, a conference and sports hotel with a large gym and three indoor tennis courts. In my free time, I also enjoy playing tennis, though more for the social aspect, so I have a real passion for the little yellow felt ball.

 How did you become aware of the NK-4 tournament series?

Susanne from TennisTraveller made contact with Nicolas Kiefer and then everything went quite quickly and easily and we found a date for the first tournament in the hall in March.

 What do you find particularly interesting and exciting about the tournament format?

It appeals to many age groups and is a good opportunity to play against other opponents outside of league matches and ranking tournaments, even during the winter season.

 As a hotel director, what advantages do you see in this tournament format for hotels in general?

By selecting the age groups, families can combine sports with a short break over a weekend and play tennis in a relaxed atmosphere.

 What has your contact with the NK4 organizers been like so far? How did the tournament registration process go?

The contact was really easy and straightforward, the tournament registration is running smoothly and we hope for many registrations.

 What exactly do you expect from the tournament? For the hotel, for the surrounding tennis clubs, and for the participants?

The day is all about good matches and lots of fun for everyone involved. And of course, I'm very pleased that Nicolas Kiefer himself will be there. So it's sure to be a great Sunday of tennis.
