Our second camp diary: this time from the Naturns tennis camp with tennis training from the European Tennis Academy
And it's Easter again! Time to hunt for Easter baskets filled with chocolate bunnies and eggs. But for us tennis players, Easter also means one thing: tennis camp time!
Last year I was near Darmstadt with two of our children – the kids participated in the Waske Tennis Academy's Easter camp for five days. It was a fantastic and intensive week that we can highly recommend to every child and teenager.
We documented the entire camp week in a fairly detailed camp diary .
Off to South Tyrol - to the Naturns tennis camp
This year, family circumstances and wishes were somewhat different, which is why we'll be heading towards Merano starting on Good Friday, or more precisely, first to Naturno. There, the children will train for five days at the Naturno Tennis Camp with coaches from the European Tennis Academy . And they're incredibly excited!
European Tennis Academy us their training program, from which the children could choose a total of 5 training focuses. The kids quickly agreed and selected the following:
- Basic stroke technique with the motto: "More self-confidence through conscious technique"
- Minimize Unforced Errors - Motto: Today I gain more security
- Serve and return – motto: No serve, no return, no victory.
- Beating winners made easy - motto: No risk, no fun
- Tactical plays for singles - motto: Today I have a solution for everything
I thought this selection was extremely good beforehand, and now, just like the kids, I'm excited to see how the training topics will be implemented on the field.
The plan is for the children to focus on their respective training areas in the mornings and then put them into practice in a sparring and training match in the afternoons. Athletic training will not be offered by the tennis camp at this Easter camp – that's where mom and dad come in. Doing it together is fun, though, and will get everyone the fitness they need for the clay court season.
A familiar and proven combination - holiday apartment and tennis
We'll be staying in an apartment just outside Naturns – I'll tell you all about that, of course. For now, it's time to make the final preparations before the tennis family heads off to South Tyrol, one of our favorite spots in Italy.
And we will report to you daily with a blog post from the tennis camp, thus bringing our second camp diary from South Tyrol to life!
