Open from March 19th to November 14th, 2027.
The Parkhotel Marlena Adults Only (14+ years) is located in Marling at an altitude of 377 meters, just three kilometers from the spa town of Merano in South Tyrol. The hotel enjoys a magnificent panoramic location and is surrounded by a beautiful, park-like gardenwhere you can discover a variety of rare trees and flowers. The romantic garden provides a lovely contrast to the modern architecture , which is very clean and minimalist, both in the original building and the new villa. For Hans Inderst, who built the Parkhotel Marlena in Marling on his parents' property in 1978 and still runs it with his family today, health was never just a slogan, but a conviction: that exercise, good food, and enjoyment belong together. Over the decades, everything else has grown from this – the tennis school, which has been there since the founding year, the Lana Golf Club, which he himself established, the alkaline fasting program, the garden, and the art that is reflected throughout. The 50 modern, comfortable, and spacious hotel rooms and suites, available in five different categories, are located in both the main building and the villa and range in size from 28 to 42 square meters. A modern, comfortable, and cozy mix of furnishings awaits you. Nothing cluttered, just straightforward. And the rooms with panoramic windows are truly stunning!
Our tip: there are special rooms for allergy sufferers and dog owners. Two 11 kW universal charging stations are available for electric cars.
Located directly at the hotel are two clay courts , which can be used free of charge from March to November (one hour per person per day). They are surrounded by the hotel's green park and offer panoramic views of Merano and the surrounding mountains. In the evenings, the courts can also be used under floodlights . Rackets are available for rent at the hotel. Tennis lessons are offered by the HD Tennis Team ASD tennis school, led by certified PTR tennis instructors, for all skill levels and ages. You can choose between individual lessons or group courses from Monday to Friday, with varying levels of intensity. Should the weather be inclement, there is a two-court indoor tennis center with artificial turf just a short distance away. Seasonal camps are also offered.
South Tyrol, and especially the Merano region, is a paradise for active TennisTraveller . Enjoy leisurely hikes on one of the many forest trails or climb in the mountains. Hotel owner Hans Inderst even offers special cultural hikes – a truly unique experience. Cyclists will find plenty to enjoy here, whether on a relaxed touring bike, a racing bike, or a mountain bike. Mountain bikes can be borrowed free of charge, and e-bikes are available for a fee directly at the hotel. Golfers can tee off on the 9-hole golf course in Lana or at one of the numerous other courses – with special discounts. Incidentally, hotel owner Hans Inderst was the driving force behind the construction of the Lana Golf Club and is considered a golf pioneer. The hotel's modern fitness room, along with the gymnastics and water aerobics classes and yoga sessions offered Monday through Saturday, complete the range of sports activities .
The 1000 m²Marlena Spa wellness area, with its six different saunas, invites you to relax. The sauna lounge, featuring two saunas with panoramic views, is a dream. You can enjoy varying levels of heat in the herbal and bio saunas, the steam bath, or the infrared cabin. Cool off in the indoor pool (30°C, 16x6 meters) or the beautiful outdoor pool in the garden (26°C, 15x7 meters). There are wonderful relaxation areas both indoors and outdoors, each offering a magnificent mountain panorama. At Beauty Marlen, you can pamper yourself completely – whether with a massage, a beauty treatment, or a wellness program. The spa menu knows no bounds.
When it comes to culinary delights, the Marlena leaves nothing to be desired: start your tennis day with a fantastic and extensive breakfast buffet featuring vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options . For a light snack, you can choose from light, regional dishes from the bistro menu (for a fee) at lunchtime, or treat yourself to a coffee and a delicious cake in the afternoon. The culinary highlight awaits you in the evening with the gourmet half-board option: a five-course gourmet menu prepared by head chef Domenico Savino , who has previously cooked at Tantris in Munich and whose cooking style is based on the motto "Mediterranean, light, refined – Italy and the Alpine region on one plate." The diverse salad and cheese buffet will also delight you. Special highlights include the outdoor barbecue evenings, the wine tasting evenings, and the sophisticated alkaline fasting gourmet menus. Many of the products served are sourced from the immediate vicinity, and the herbs come from the hotel's own garden. In summer, you can enjoy your evening meal on the magnificent panoramic terrace . Alternatively, you can dine in one of the restaurant's rooms – either traditional or modern. The lounge and bar invite you to enjoy a drink or two. Besides the alkaline menus, we particularly appreciate the way the kitchen caters to food intolerances, adapting to them perfectly and with great creativity. Our tip: For over ten years, the Parkhotel Marlena has offered alkaline fasting according to the Wacker method, accompanied by three certified coaches . Fruit and vegetables instead of deprivation, combined with yoga or aqua aerobics, liver compresses, and alkaline baths. This is also a perfect complement to a very special tennis holiday.
Culture, shopping, and a whole host of activities await you in the Merano region. To be honest, we're not quite sure what to recommend in terms of excursions – the Merano region simply offers too many options! For shopping and strolling, you absolutely must visit Merano and Bolzano. You'll also find numerous castles and fortresses: Trauttmansdorff Castle near Merano and its gardens are a must-see. Schenna Castle or the Princely Castle in Merano are also worth a visit. Or perhaps you'd prefer to explore one of the Messmer Mountain Museums scattered throughout the Merano region. The many forest trails around Merano are perfect for a leisurely stroll or a longer hike and are especially wonderful in spring when there's often still snow on the mountains. Wine lovers will be drawn to the many wineries near Lake Caldaro. There's so much to see and discover. The reception team will be happy to advise you.
