The Hotel Jardín Tecina is located in the southeast of the Spanish Canary Island of La Gomera. Just 10 minutes from La Gomera Airport, you'll arrive at this fairly large and sprawling hotel complex, which belongs to the tranquil village of Playa Santiago. The hotel sits atop a cliff approximately 50 meters high on the steep coastline , offering fantastic views of the sea and the surrounding area. Although this 4-star hotel is anything but small, you'll have to cover some longer distances, but you'll be rewarded with many peaceful and beautifully situated areas. The 70,000-square-meter garden , reminiscent of a botanical garden, contributes significantly to this tranquility.

The 434 rooms are spread across 37 buildings, each consisting of only two floors. This prevents you from ever feeling like you're staying in a "concrete fortress." Everything is nicely laid out and airy. From standard double rooms to suites, family rooms to "Love Relax" rooms, there's something for everyone. The rooms vary in their renovation status, so be sure to check this when booking. Overall, the rooms are beautifully and comfortably furnished and offer everything you would expect from a four-star hotel. Slightly separate is the adults-only Club Laurel, specifically for TennisTraveller . In addition to rooms, it also houses several restaurants and pools. An elevator takes you directly from the upper resort to the club, which is located right on the private pebble beach below.

Our tip : the rooms with sea views in the "first row" are simply amazing. On the terrace, you almost feel like you're floating above the sea.

The hotel offers five artificial turf courts with quartz sand and floodlights . Tennis lessons can be booked at the Sunball Tennis School , which offers individual and group lessons as well as specialized courses for adults and children. Racket rental and stringing services are also available.

La Gomera is a renowned hiking destination , offering numerous (guided) tours. The island is home to many bird species, making it a paradise for amateur ornithologists. A visit to Garajonay National Park , a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is always worthwhile. Here you can climb many peaks and admire the stunning natural beauty. And Los Órganos, the petrified cathedral organs, on a half-day excursion.
