High. Pure Indulgence. These three words perfectly describe the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol on the Seefeld plateau. And rightly so, as I discovered during my short break. These three words perfectly capture what the hotel stands for and what awaits you there. Each word applies to so much in and around this 5-star superior luxury hotel, situated at an altitude of 1,300 meters. The "high" refers not only to the location, the "indulgence" not only to the culinary experiences, and the "pure" to the straightforwardness and focus on the essentials.
I would love to take you with me on my travelogue up to the "Interalpen" and share how my daughter and I experienced our short stay at the hotel.
What could be better for a TennisTraveller than relaxing in a tennis hotel in the mountains after a league match in the sweltering heat? Actually, very little – at least that's the opinion of my daughter and me.
From Stuttgart, the drive over the Fern Pass to Telfs was quite quick, followed by a winding panoramic road up to the Seefeld plateau. Upon arriving at the 5-star superior hotel, you don't simply drive up to the front like in most hotels. No, the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol, designed by entrepreneur Hans Liebherr, was very forward-thinking from the start: you drive directly into the parking garage, hand over your keys, and your car is parked and out of sight of all hotel guests.
We took the elevator to the incredibly spacious lobby and the reception. We were greeted very warmly and given the room key for our deluxe double room on the fourth floor.

We were greeted by a "room" of just under 70 square meters , or rather a small apartment with a combined living and sleeping area, a dressing room, and a spacious bathroom. Our gaze, however, was immediately drawn outside – no wonder, as the room boasted floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows spanning its entire width, offering a magnificent view of the local mountain, the Hohe Munde. As I learned the following day during the hotel tour, all rooms and suites in the hotel actually offer this breathtaking panoramic view thanks to the hotel's ingenious design.

After a long day of tennis, we went straight to dinner after a quick refreshment. Despite the hotel's size, the restaurant is cleverly divided into several dining rooms and a conservatory, allowing us to sit in a quiet and private setting. A glance at the menu brought a broad smile to my daughter's face, as she is a vegetarian. The six-course set menu offered a variety of vegetarian options, which—I can already reveal—were beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious. With warm and highly professional service, we were guided through the menu and were completely delighted by the sophistication of each dish.

The next day, we were able to start the day with perfect weather and breakfast on the sunny south-facing terrace. Well, what can I say? The breakfast buffet is simply fantastic, and absolutely nothing is missing. Specialty coffees and freshly squeezed orange juice are served right at the table. With the breathtaking mountain views and a delicious breakfast, there's really no better way to start a day of tennis.
Afterwards, Jessica from the marketing department gave us a tour of the hotel. We went from the bottom to the top and back again. This way, we got to see and hear a lot right at the start of the day.
After the hotel tour, we changed into our tennis gear and headed to the courts, where the coach was already waiting for sparring session LUX Tennis Private Coaching at the hotel, led us through a sparring session, practicing various strokes and playing points. Since May 2023, the hotel has been an international partner for tennis lessons with LUX Tennis - Private Coaching. Founded in 2018 by former professional tennis players Joan Soler and Tony Rajaobelina, LUX Tennis offers not only various camps and group training sessions, but also private lessons with individually tailored training programs.
It's great to have a highly skilled coach on-site – that's certainly not always the case. The hotel offers a total of three outdoor courts, two quartz clay courts, and one clay court of ATP quality. In winter or during bad weather, two indoor courts are available. Incidentally, Novak Djokovic trained on these courts last winter. We trained on the clay court, which is in excellent condition and offers a wonderful view of the Hohe Munde mountain. The weather was perfect for tennis, so we worked up a real sweat and had lots of fun and great rallies.

After training, we headed to the Interalpen Spa to relax. The panoramic pool provided a welcome cool-down, and in the spa garden, we unwinded on comfortable loungers with mountain views after our workouts. The Tyrolean sauna village is beautifully designed and offers a variety of infusions daily. I didn't miss out on this and first enjoyed a honey-salt infusion in the Finnish sauna, followed by an aloe vera-yogurt infusion in the steam room. In between, various drinks, fruit, and freshly baked bread were available. Simply wonderful!

Satisfied and relaxed, we went to dinner that evening, which once again brought smiles to our faces. Each course was both aesthetically pleasing and a true culinary delight. No wonder, given the restaurant's multiple award-winning cuisine. Here, you can taste the individual ingredients, brilliantly and surprisingly combined. Simply fantastic!

We ended what was, for us, a perfect day of tennis on holiday with a short walk and a cocktail at the fireplace bar. There was even live music from two lovely singers.

The next morning we were greeted by perfect weather again, a gigantic breakfast buffet, and a breathtaking mountain panorama from the south-facing terrace. The freshly made filled crêpes with fresh berries were an absolute delight!
After breakfast, I had the opportunity to have a chat with Annalisa Simon from the marketing department. This took place in one of the few panoramic suites on the top floor. But see and hear for yourselves what Annalisa told me about the hotel.
Then, sadly, it was time to say goodbye again. We would have loved to extend our stay, as the hotel is truly something special. After a warm and friendly check-out, we went back to the underground parking garage, where our car and luggage were already waiting for us to leave.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful Interalpen team! It definitely wasn't our last visit. Next time, we might come in winter and try out the two indoor courts and the various winter sports options, such as cross-country skiing with access points right at the hotel. I imagine that would be a fantastic tennis holiday!
I can highly recommend the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol to all of you.
Of course, a break in such a luxury hotel comes at a hefty price. But a tennis holiday at the "Interalpen" is an absolute holiday highlight, offering you so many opportunities and amenities away from the tennis court.
For everyone who wants to treat themselves to something really special!
