Golf holidays in Carinthia - a perfect combination with tennis

After extensive research, seven points appear to be essential: Clearly explained using the example of Carinthia, a paradise for golfers in the sunny south of Austria.

1. The quality and variety of available golf courses:
   Twelve courses offer plenty of variety for golfers in Carinthia – each with its own character and unique challenges. A special feature is the cross-border Alpe-Adria-Golf Card , which allows access to around 20 of the most beautiful courses in Carinthia, Slovenia, and Italy for a single price. The card includes 3, 4, or 5 green fees (225, 290, or 350 euros) and also makes it possible to play golf in three countries in just one vacation. Ten courses in Carinthia participate in this partnership.

2. Accommodation – Comfort and proximity to the golf courses.

   Carinthia, Austria's federal state bordering Italy and Slovenia, lies on the southern side of the Alps. This results in an above-average number of sunshine hours and a long season for golfers. At the Klopeinersee-Southern Carinthia Golf Park, the golf season even lasts all year round in winters with little snow.

4. Costs related to green fees, accommodation, and meals:
   In spring and autumn, there's one more reason to swing your golf club in Carinthia. With the "2 for 1" promotion, a second person can play for free from the start of the season until April 30th and again in autumn from October 7th, 2024. Partner hotels also offer attractive package deals.

Be sure to try local fish, Carinthian noodles, Reindling (a traditional sweet bread), Kirchtagssuppe (a local soup), and a Carinthian Brettljause (a cold platter). 7. What's on offer for two- and four-legged travel companions?
   Even if your traveling partner hasn't yet caught the golf bug, a holiday together in Carinthia is well worth it. While one tries their luck on the golf course, the other can enjoy active pursuits like tennis or cycling (e.g., mountain biking, e-bike tours), hiking, or water sports (e.g., stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, etc.). Four-legged friends are also welcome in Carinthia: the Klopeiner See-Südkärnten golf course (12 euro fee), Moosburg-Pörtschach am Wörthersee and Velden-Köstenberg (10 euro fee each), Golfarena Bad Kleinkirchheim and Nassfeld Golf (both free of charge) are all dog-friendly. Dogs on leashes are also welcome on the 9-hole Romantic Course at GC Klagenfurt-Seltenheim.
