Do you have a favorite bike tour?Definitely the 3-Lakes Loop, or a leisurely ride into neighboring Italy for an espresso and back. Why the 3-Lakes Loop? Because in the Seental valley, you experience the "quiet" side of Carinthia. When the evening sun reflects off the smaller, unspoiled lakes, and you then enjoy the descent down to the lake below, shimmering in all shades of blue and turquoise – that's truly special…and the ride across the border into Italy is always an adventure, as it takes you past a variety of different bodies of water. First along Lake Wörthersee, then the Drau Cycle Path along the Drau River, and finally the Gail Cycle Path along the Gail River…always with the goal – a pizza and an espresso – in sight. The return trip with a full stomach is another sporting challenge – but for this tour, you'll definitely choose an e-bike 😉
And finally, the question of all cycling questions: are you an e-biker or still a bio-biker?I'm a passionate "hybrid biker" with a penchant for e-bikes! Why? Because here in Carinthia, e-bikes wonderfully expand your range. You can easily make it up the mountain after work without arriving at dinner completely exhausted. They take the fear out of steep climbs and leave more time to enjoy the view. But for short, intense power sessions, my new regular (gravel) bike will definitely be my go-to!
