Frescobol is a fun sport originating in Brazil that is constantly gaining new fans throughout Europe. In Germany, this summer sport is usually known as "beachball." The game is actually very simple. The main objective is to keep the ball in the air for as long as possible. You can adjust the speed of the rallies, for example, to keep the game exciting over time. You can also play in various formats such as "attack-defense" or "2 vs. 1." For tennis players, Frescobol is a great alternative, as the strokes and coordination are very similar to volleys in tennis. So, if you aspire to become a serve-and-volley or doubles legend, our Frescobol set will definitely help.
Another great thing is that you can play anytime, anywhere – whether in the garden, park, on the beach, or in the courtyard. All you need is a little space and a set, and you're ready to go!
All our rackets are made of solid wood and are therefore extremely durable. Our rackets last a lifetime, and playing with real wooden rackets is much more varied than playing with the usual plastic rackets. The handles are tennis-style and significantly more comfortable than the plastic handles of beach volleyball rackets.
Frescobol is a very versatile sport. The different types of wood and balls contribute to this variety. Darker rackets are generally heavier, and the wood is harder, causing the ball to bounce faster off the striking surface. Balls also vary in material. There are softer balls for beginners and rubber balls with a high bounce, which can make the game very intense and fast-paced. By offering a variety of balls and rackets, we aim to broaden the appeal of the sport, ensuring that suitable equipment is available for all ages and skill levels.
Harald and I traveled together in 2016 and played a lot of beach volleyball with classic rackets. During the trip, we realized that the sport could be much more varied if the rackets were optimized and transformed into true "sports equipment." When we then saw Brazilians on the beach playing with real wooden rackets, we had the idea that authentic Frescobol should really be popular in Europe as well.
Harald was studying sports at the time and I was studying business administration, so we quickly realized that we could try to develop a real piece of sports equipment at the Technical University of Munich.
Currently, it's still just the two of us. However, we occasionally have student interns and trainees who support us here in Munich. Funnily enough, our first permanent employee, "Johannes," who was also on the journey with Harald and me back then, will start at the beginning of the year.
The biggest hurdle was definitely our first delivery, as we discovered that our grip tape was coming loose from the racket after just a few rallies. So we started unwrapping all the grip tape in our shared apartments and re-wrapping it "stronger/tighter". That took several hours, but I suppose any activity is better than studying for exams :D
One of our most rewarding experiences was undoubtedly our first sale. We had just launched the product online and could hardly believe how quickly our first customer found it. We're still delighted today when we receive positive feedback about the sport or when Frescobol is featured in newspapers, blogs, and forums. This helps to continually increase Frescobol's popularity in Europe.
In the long term, we want to develop more and more cool, innovative, and durable sports and leisure products. As of today, we have already developed several outdoor games and still have many more ideas for fun games.

Does this sound familiar? You buy a beach volleyball set at your holiday destination or even at home, play for an hour or two on vacation, and then either the rackets are ruined, the ball is damaged, or both happen during your holiday. Pretty annoying, right? On top of that, you can usually only buy cheap, pressed-fiber or even plastic rackets at the resort, which really limits the enjoyment of the game and often make a terrible racket, too.
I was all the more delighted by the superb quality of the Two46 rackets – they're truly the Porsche of beach volleyball rackets. They feel fantastic in your hand, look incredibly stylish, and are a real joy to play with. The different balls are great, and we immediately switched to the speed ball, which really gets the party started.
One thing is for sure: the set will definitely get a lot of use at home in the garden and on vacation, and will bring us lots of joy!
