For a TennisTraveller a place to relax is just as important as excellent tennis and training conditions, as is good food. Tennis world champion Sepp Baumgartner knows this from long experience. And with his small but exquisite tennis retreat, the Tennis Wellness Garden on Lake Waging in Upper Bavaria, he has perfectly succeeded in creating an absolute tennis holiday highlight by combining tennis, wellness, and culinary delights
Sepp Baumgartner has been a familiar name to us since our youth – his tennis camps in Waging am See, located between Lake Chiemsee and Salzburg, are practically legendary. Since 2014, in addition to the tennis camp, there's also a wellness hotel and a wellness garden – both seamlessly integrated with the existing tennis facility. The wellness hotel comprises TennisTraveller of just 15 rooms , offering a choice forest or panorama rooms, garden rooms with direct access to the natural swimming pond, or two romantic suites . All rooms are very spacious and furnished with attention to detail. Throughout the hotel, you can see that a cohesive overall concept is at its core. Regardless of your chosen room type, you can expect to enjoy a fully glazed bathroom. Larger groups will find attractive hotels or apartments in the immediate vicinity of the tennis facility.
The tennis camp boasts six clay courts and four indoor courts with artificial turf – all within sight of Lake Waging, situated on the edge of town. Sepp Baumgartner lives and breathes tennis, and it shows. Holding the highest German and US coaching licenses, Sepp learned his craft from the ground up and, together with his five-person coaching team, has been delivering outstanding tennis training on the court day after day for over 30 years. Decorated with two European Championship titles, six World Championship titles in the ski-tennis combination, as well as numerous German and international championship titles, he is happy to share his vast knowledge. And that's simply invaluable for all skill levels and ages.
Tennis courses for all skill levels are offered from March to November. Depending on the intensity and duration of your training, there are full-day, half-day, or weekend courses. Alternatively, you can book a tennis camp tailored to your individual needs. The 9-hole Anthal golf course, located 10 kilometers from the tennis camp, is characterized by its natural setting. Even experienced golfers will find the varied course appealing. Its stunning location against the backdrop of the Alps is sure to delight every golfer.
The hotel's name says it all: the wellness garden , created with meticulous attention to detail and according to Feng Shui principles , blends seamlessly with the hotel and tennis camp, featuring a sensory garden and two natural swimming ponds . There are a total of seven different saunas , all with large glass fronts and individually designed interiors. The two natural swimming ponds offer a refreshing dip !
