When did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 12, and then returned to tennis at the age of 32 after my apprenticeship.

Your greatest sporting achievement in tennis?
Just four years after returning to tennis, I won my first national championship title (in the senior category) and later 13 more. I also won two regional (Balkan Championships) titles and was runner-up twice; my best ranking in the ITF senior rankings was 94th. I also reached the quarterfinals of the European Championships.

How long have you been working as a coach?
I've been a tennis coach for 20 years now, but I only started working seriously as a tennis coach 12 years ago.

How would you describe yourself as a coach?
I firmly believe in hard work and apply it to my tennis training, just as I did during my long and successful career as a manager in a large chemical company. Hard work combined with confidence and knowledge MUST lead to an improved game.

Your goal: what should a TennisTraveller "take away" after a training session with you? I'm obsessed with achieving results. For me, the result that counts is the improvement of at least one, or preferably several, elements of my students' tennis game.
If you take a tennis lesson with me, be prepared to work hard, and we'll fight together to improve your game—only then am I satisfied! I give my all to every single player. That's good for my students, but it also motivates me to become a better coach.

Your favorite (tennis) holiday spot?
My favorite for a tennis holiday is definitely the Patricio World Class Tennis Center at the Ali Bey Club Manavgat.

You love your job because… I
love working as a tennis coach in a hotel because it gives me the opportunity to meet people of different nationalities, religions, social customs, and cultural backgrounds. I try to spend time with the guests not only playing tennis but also off the court – that brings me great joy!
