When it Kirschbaum International again May 1st to May 8th, 2022 , then the tennis stars will be playing Tomorrow. The ITF World Tour is mainly played by young talents and up-and-coming talents who are on the verge of making it to the big ATP tour. In the main field of 32, at least three German tennis professionals will be at the start at the Kirschbaum International: Louis Wessels (ATP 347), Tim Handel (ATP 548) and Dominik Böhler (ATP 645). Other German participants include Oscar Moraing, Robert Strombachs, Leopold Zima, Milan Welte and the youngster Max Rehberg. The main field includes participants from nine European countries such as Germany, France, Switzerland, Romania, Sweden, Czech Republic, Belgium, Italy, Portugal and Spain. Russian-born Ivan Nedelko competes under a neutral flag.

“The city of Meerbusch can be proud to host such a top-class international field,” said a delighted organizer Marc Raffel. “Among the favorites for the title, I see former world No. 62 Kenny de Schepper (FRA) and the 19-year-old Romanian rising star Nicholas David Ionel, currently ranked No. 350 in the ATP world rankings. “However, the level of competition is very high, so practically anything is possible,” Raffel added. The winner will receive prize money and 10 ATP world ranking points – out of a total of 40 – as well as the new B&B Hotels Tennis Trophy, presented by Martin Kastner (MK Consulting & Hotelmanagement GmbH), on the final day, May 8th.

Henri Squire, a 21-year-old tennis Bundesliga player from Düsseldorf's Rochusclub and currently ranked No. 350 in the ATP world rankings, has received a wildcard from organizer Marc Raffel for the Kirschbaum International, which starts on May 1st, 2022 at the TeReMeer in Meerbusch. "Henri has developed tremendously and is on his way to the top; a true local hero for the Kirschbaum International.".
