Over the Pentecost weekend, our NK 4 travel scout Klaus and his family stayed at the Strandhotel Fischland on the Baltic Sea . He enjoyed three nights at the five-star hotel in the Dierhagen seaside resort: a beautiful holiday apartment, fantastic wellness and sports facilities, delicious food, wonderfully warm and attentive service, and of course, the stunning beach right outside the hotel. But that wasn't all: Klaus participated in the Baltic Sea Cup, the hotel's first NK 4 tournament, which he promptly won! As an added highlight, on the last day, Klaus's son had the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive training session with Nicolas Kiefer, the initiator of the NK 4 tournament series. What a unique tennis holiday experience for this tennis-loving family! Klaus sent us a fantastic report with many photos. Read on to find out what his days at the exclusive Strandhotel Fischland were like!
From here on, Klaus takes over - enjoy reading!
The hotel complex is nestled in the magnificent Baltic Sea scenery, directly on the beach and surrounded by trees and park-like grounds – a very peaceful and natural setting near the Baltic Sea resort of Dierhagen on the Fischland-Darß-Zwingst peninsula. In addition to the main building, there are numerous holiday apartments, two of which are located in separate, small houses, as well as a small, village-like area with beautiful thatched-roof holiday homes. The holiday homes can accommodate 6-12 people.

The main house, interiors, and holiday apartments are modernly furnished and have a bright and spacious feel. In addition to an outdoor terrace, further seating areas scattered throughout the grounds invite guests to linger, relax, and unwind.

The hotel has its own private access to the beach. There you'll find beach chairs, a beach volleyball court, a trampoline, and a nice little beach bar… even the beach toilets were very nicely furnished.

There's a generous breakfast buffet with a wide selection of fresh fruit, egg dishes, bread, cold cuts, juices, and much, much more. Dinner – whether buffet nights or à la carte – is just as impressive: absolutely delicious! A real highlight of our stay was the "kitchen party," where guests had access to the kitchen and, in addition to a buffet, enjoyed dishes prepared right at the stove by the friendly chefs. A fantastic idea! A DJ provided a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere amidst the buffet, rounding off a perfect evening.

Guests of the holiday apartments and houses also have the option of ordering a bread roll delivery service. Half-board can also be booked. Lunch and dinner are served in the Fischland restaurant, or snacks and cakes are available in the "Strandbude" (beach bar) or the hotel bar.
The Strandhotel Fischland boasts a beautiful, light-filled indoor swimming pool. In addition, the main building features a lovely sauna area with a steam room, Finnish sauna, and salt sauna. Guests can also enjoy the outdoor sauna with a nudist area, or book beauty treatments or massages.

Hotel guests can use the fitness area, rent bicycles, and play table tennis and badminton. There is also a daily changing activity program including aqua fitness, various yoga classes, runs through the Ribnitz moor, and back fitness courses. Personal fitness programs are also available. The hotel complex has two outdoor tennis courts (quartz sand surface) and one indoor court (carpet – non-marking shoes required). The only minor drawback of the indoor court is that the run-off area on one side is a bit short. Tennis court rental costs €25 per hour.

NK 4 finalists with Nicolas Kiefer and hotel director Pedjman Hamie
Monday morning highlight: Training with Kiwi herself
Hotel director Pedjman Hamie is also a tennis enthusiast and was of course personally present at the NK 4 tournament.
Sport, wellness, health and family are the core values of the hotel and were also reflected in the fact that the French Open was watched together on a large screen in the hotel bar.
You can read more about the absolute Travelscout highlight, my participation in the NK 4 tournament under the watchful eye of Nicolas Kiefer, in a separate blog post. But here's a sneak peek: I surprisingly won the men's competition and earned myself an exclusive coaching session the following day. I then passed this "bonus" on to my tennis-mad son. Both the tournament under "Kiwi's" watchful eye and the coaching session will be unforgettable!
Warnemünde and Rostock are a 45-minute drive away. Beautiful towns and villages, both small and larger, are scattered around the village of Dierhagen and across the Darß peninsula. The Baltic Sea resort of Ahrenshoop became famous for its artists' colony. The Baltic Sea spa town of Zingst is the easternmost municipality of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula chain and lies nestled between the Baltic Sea and the Bodden lagoons, within the "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft" National Park.
I was delighted by the very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere at the Strandhotel Fischland. All the staff are extremely courteous and friendly, and despite the heavy workload over the Pentecost weekend, they don't seem at all stressed – very, very refreshing! As it turned out during our stay, many long-time regular guests – including many families with three generations – return to the Strandhotel time and again. This isn't surprising at all. Despite the rainy weather, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing Pentecost weekend. Surrounded by nature, located directly on the Baltic Sea with its own private beach, the hotel offers a wonderful combination of relaxation, leisure activities, and sports, making a stay there a truly fantastic experience. It's also ideally suited for families – there's even a childcare service available.
Absolutely recommended!!!!
