Johannes and his tennis-playing friend a divine Travelscout stay Aphrodite Hills Resort in Cyprus . Johannes had won the trip in our Fantastic Advent Calendar on December 24th of last year. After completing important university exams, the medical student treated himself to a short break at the exclusive 5-star resort near Paphos. Equipped with a rental car, they drove from the airport to the resort, where the two Travelscouts stayed in a chic and very spacious apartment. Their sporting activities included tennis, padel, and fitness, while they were also treated to culinary delights at the resort. They explored the culturally interesting surroundings and enjoyed the stunning beaches and, of course, the even more beautiful sunsets. "The Aphrodite Hills Resort is a real insider tip for all TennisTraveller who are looking for a diverse sports and island experience," was their conclusion. How this came about and what the two young men experienced, you can best read for yourselves in Johannes' travel report from the Aphrodite Hills Resort !
From here on, Johannes takes over - enjoy reading!
As travel scouts, we, two tennis-loving friends, had the pleasure of enjoying a very special stay: four nights at the Aphrodite Hills Resort in Cyprus. A wonderful opportunity to soak up the sun, play lots of sports, and explore the island a bit.
We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment that truly left nothing to be desired. Spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, and a terrace where we could enjoy our morning coffee in peace. The view of the surrounding greenery and the relaxed atmosphere immediately created a holiday feeling. And thanks to excellent housekeeping, the apartment and kitchen were always spotless.

Beautiful terrace
It was also great that the apartment was centrally located on the resort grounds. This meant we had short walks to the tennis courts, restaurants, and the small supermarket. The walk to the included breakfast in the golf clubhouse was also short. The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired, providing the perfect start to the day.
Of course, tennis was our main focus. The courts are in excellent condition and situated in a beautiful setting – you really do play with a view of the greenery. We played matches and also did a little practice; it was simply perfect. One of the courts is also covered with retractable tarpaulins, so you can play comfortably even in the blazing midday sun with some shade.

Newly discovered: Padel - simply great!
Another real highlight for us was playing padel. The modern courts are also located on the grounds of the tennis complex, just a few minutes' walk from the apartment. Since we'd wanted to try padel for a long time, this was the perfect opportunity – and we loved it!
We also regularly used the fitness room, which was also within walking distance, to prepare ourselves optimally for the tennis season.
After so much sport, your physical well-being is of course essential. Here too, the Aphrodite Hills Resort offers plenty of variety: We ate in both the Italian restaurant and the classic taverna in the evenings – both are highly recommended. The atmosphere is relaxed and the sea view from the terrace is magnificent, perfect for a holiday.
Well fortified after breakfast
Beautiful evening atmosphere in the tavern
With delicious mezze
We also indulged in culinary delights outside the resort: Paphos offers numerous restaurants and beach bars, both right at the harbor and a little further afield, where you can enjoy freshly caught fish or traditional mezze with a sea view. We particularly loved the combination of good food and a relaxed beach atmosphere.
Of course, we didn't just enjoy the resort, but also explored the surrounding area with our rental car. We were particularly impressed by Paphos, a city full of history and life. From the harbor, you can stroll through narrow streets, enjoy a leisurely coffee, and visit the ancient ruins.
Another excursion took us to the famous Aphrodite's Beach. Legend has it that the goddess Aphrodite rose from the sea here – and when you stand by the water and look at the rocks, you understand why this place is so special. The water was crystal clear, and the scenery was beautiful.

For us it was a perfect short break – and a real tip for all TennisTravellerwho are looking for a varied sports and island experience.
