South Tyrol is my absolute favorite tennis holiday destination. This beautiful and incredibly diverse corner of northern Italy has always been my favorite. I'm particularly fond of the area around Merano. This year, my family and I went to a very special place just before Easter. After a long time, we were finally back at the Andreus Resorts , staying at the Sonnenalm . I've been there so many times in the past. A lot has changed, yet we felt completely at ease and almost at home from the very first moment. Today, I'm taking you with me to the beautiful Passeier Valley and sharing a perfect tennis holiday day with you. Active on the tennis and golf courses, indulging in delicious food and enjoying every moment, and of course, plenty of relaxation. A little bit of everything, all in a truly beautiful way – simply a tennis holiday dream!
Eight o'clock, the holiday can begin, the breakfast buffet beckons. We have a great table right by the window and can enjoy the beautiful mountain panorama of the Passeier Valley early in the morning. A glance at the three tennis courts shows that the groundskeeper is already at work preparing them. But first, time to refuel and head to the juicer for a morning vitamin boost. Along with that, a freshly prepared omelet with everything, Bircher muesli with fruit, and of course, a cappuccino, which the friendly staff bring to our table. The hotel's daily newsletter is also ready and, in addition to the various sports and wellness options at the Sonnenalm and Andreus, it's packed with other information such as excursion tips. Our program for today is already set: tennis and golf.

After breakfast, we changed into our tennis gear and headed out to the courts – our first time on clay, and with such a breathtaking backdrop and sunshine! It really couldn't be better! Despite the cold nights, the courts are in excellent condition, and the shape is surprisingly good. A view like this is simply inspiring! At Sonnenalm, you can play on three clay courts ; two more courts await you at the main Andreus location, about 1.5 kilometers away. New at Sonnenalm is the padel court with panoramic glass, located right next to the tennis courts. We won't have time for padel today, but we'll definitely do that next time.

After sweating it out, we hopped on the hotel's mountain bikes and rode along the Passer Dam to the main Andreus Hotel. There, on the beautiful panoramic terrace, we enjoyed our midday snack. As a guest of the Sonnenalm, you can use all the facilities and services of the 5-star Hotel Andreus . It's like paying for 4 stars and enjoying 5. That's truly fantastic! And incredibly convenient! At lunchtime, they offer a light snack, salads, and plenty of sweet treats like cakes and pastries. Perfect for satisfying a small appetite. After a wonderful break on the hotel terrace, we met Daniel, the golf pro, a few steps away. We had booked a golf taster course . In 2.5 hours, Daniel taught us the absolute basics of putting, driving, and chipping. Wow, that was so much fun! Putting and driving went quite well, but chipping was still pretty difficult for me. The little white ball often didn't want to cooperate. To finish off the day, we played a few practice holes at the Passeier Golf Club in Merano, which is located right next to the Andreus Resort. All in all, a more than successful excursion into the world of golf!

From the golf course, we headed straight to the 2,500 m² Sauna World at Andreus, since we were already there! Although I'm not usually a fan of large saunas, we participated in an infusion in the DOME event sauna . And what can I say! It was an absolutely fantastic show experience: with music, fragrances, and a choreographed performance by the sauna master that was truly spectacular! Afterwards, we relaxed in the outdoor pool and on the many comfortable loungers. Oh, how wonderful! After visiting one or two smaller saunas and one of the steam rooms, we cycled back to the Sonnenalm.
Incidentally, the Sonnenalm also has a beautiful wellness area with a swimming pool, sauna, and daily themed sauna infusions. It's smaller, but just as lovely and relaxing.

An absolute culinary highlight awaited us that evening at our Sonnenalm: the 5-course gourmet menu , which was simply stunning in both taste and presentation! The vegetarian option for our son was also a dream! And with the perfect wine pairings – dining like a tennis god, right here in South Tyrol! A nightcap at the bar brought to a close a perfect day of tennis at the Sonnenalm , a truly fantastic blend of tennis, other sports, relaxation, and delicious food! Time for a cozy, comfortable bed and looking forward to the next day of our holiday in the Passeier Valley!

Then head straight to the beautiful Andreus Resorts. There you have the choice between the 5-star Hotel Andreus with two clay courts and the 4-star Hotel Sonnenalm with three clay courts, where I stayed with my family. Both are simply wonderful tennis holiday destinations where you can pamper yourself in every way.
