Off to sunny climes for a tennis holiday at the end of October! Our Aldiana Travelscout winner, Paula, had been looking forward to this since July. In July, Paula won Aldiana Club Djerba Atlantide METZINGEN OPEN 2024 , the $15,000 ITF tournament in Metzingen, Swabia Together with her tennis-playing friend, she then headed off to warmer climes in Djerba. Not only did sunshine and wonderfully pleasant temperatures await them, but also 12 clay courts, delicious all-inclusive meals, and a huge range of sports and relaxation activities. The two students were thrilled with the diverse options at the club and experienced a tennis holiday straight out of 1001 Nights , one that they will remember for a long time! "A tennis holiday week where we lacked absolutely nothing! It was simply fantastic: from the delicious breakfasts each morning to the diverse range of activities such as yoga, archery, camel riding, and of course, tennis! We did so much and had tons of fun! And as students, we felt completely at ease among the numerous families. And now, our review in order:
The room was very pleasant and comfortable overall. While the furnishings are a bit dated, this didn't detract from the stay in any way. The cleanliness was excellent, and both the room and bathroom were thoroughly cleaned upon arrival. The bed was creatively made up and decorated with fresh flowers every day, which was a lovely surprise. Fresh towels and toiletries were also provided daily. The bed itself is extremely comfortable and offers good support, allowing for a truly restful night's sleep.
The food was very varied overall, with a truly extensive selection, ensuring there was something for everyone. While a few more options for vegetarians would have been welcome, there was still plenty to choose from and everyone was satisfied. Breakfast was particularly outstanding – freshly prepared dishes were available daily, and
something was always freshly cooked in the evenings as well. In addition, there were regular themed evenings where the food was lovingly prepared to match the theme, providing a welcome change of pace. There was also another restaurant right on the beach, available for lunch. This gave guests a choice between two dining options, offering a nice variety. While the beach restaurant was a bit smaller and offered a more limited menu, the stunning sea view made it a truly special place to enjoy your meal – a real highlight! The relaxed atmosphere and breathtaking panorama made lunch there a truly memorable experience, creating a perfect holiday atmosphere.
The resort is very nicely designed overall, even if some parts are a bit dated and a few areas have minor flaws. Nevertheless, we immediately felt comfortable and welcome. Everything we needed was available: a hairdresser, a doctor on-site, and even a small shop, which was a bit pricey but still
handy if we needed something quickly. The pool was large, and there were plenty of sun loungers, though they were usually occupied around midday. While the loungers themselves weren't the most comfortable, they were perfectly adequate. The path to the beach was pleasant and well-maintained, and there were plenty of options for drinks and snacks, allowing us to comfortably spend the day at the beach. All in all, a fantastic resort with everything you need for a relaxing holiday!
For tennis enthusiasts, this facility offers a fantastic range of options! There was always someone available to play, and for those seeking extra challenges, there were regular tournaments and camps. Players could also book lessons or simply play for free – entirely according to their own preferences. Tennis rackets, balls, and drinks were available on-site, so there was nothing to worry about. The entire team was incredibly friendly and helpful. With a total of 12 courts, there was more than enough space for all players. While the courts weren't top-of-the-line, they were perfectly playable, allowing everyone to truly enjoy their game. Overall, a great experience for anyone who enjoys tennis, whether beginner or advanced.
The sports offerings were diverse and left nothing to be desired! Every day there was an opportunity to try a new activity – from swimming, yoga, and meditation to archery. The staff was always friendly and motivating, which made the various classes particularly enjoyable. Even partner dancing and stretching were on the program, providing a welcome change of pace. A well-equipped gym was also available on-site, open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. – ideal for those who like to train flexibly. In addition, there was a bocce court, which provided opportunities for relaxed and social moments. Overall, a superbly organized and varied sports program with something for everyone!
about the staff – everyone was consistently friendly, attentive, and always eager to make the guests' stay as pleasant as possible. Whether at reception, in the restaurant, or with the sports facilities, the entire team was always helpful and had an open ear for requests or questions. Furthermore, almost everyone spoke German. We felt truly welcome and well cared for, which made the holiday even more relaxing and enjoyable.
