Who among you doesn't know this feeling? Over the winter, there's not quite as much playing and training, the fitness program is more likely to be skipped than done, and your tennis body gets a bit rusty. And then, suddenly and unexpectedly, it's here: the clay court season opens!
Whether at a training camp in Mallorca or at home: as soon as you step onto the clay pitch, you train like there's no tomorrow – you're itching to get going! And before you know it: after a certain age – and I'm speaking from experience – you quickly start to feel aches and pains, a pulled thigh muscle, your back or shoulder is giving out – time to see the doctor or physio!
Or maybe you stay reasonably fit, but somehow can't hit the ball at first? We've all been there. You probably won't escape all of that in 2018 either – but you can start working on your fitness and form with our coaches Mike and Steph RIGHT NOW!
Mike Diehl, the Fed Cup fitness coach, Tabata-style workouts for you that will not only get or keep your body in shape, but also strengthen the exact muscle groups you need on the clay court. You'll receive a Tabata workout every two weeks, which you can then complete at home alone, with your teammates, or with your family. The only thing you have to DO is yourself!
