As versatile as his game was, so too are his professional endeavors today. I'm talking about Nicolas Kiefer, former professional tennis player with six ATP Tour titles and a silver medalist at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Nicolas, known to most by his nickname "Kiwi," is not only a consultant, coach, ROBINSON sports ambassador , and, together with Andreas Riediger, founder of the NK-4 tournament series , the European Fast-4 Tennis Race. Did you know that Kiwi also launched his own fashion label, #kiwifash ? I interviewed Kiwi about it because, of course, I wanted to get a behind-the-scenes look. When the idea came about, how the #kiwifash label was founded, and what's available in his online shop—Kiwi reveals all in the interview. When and why did you come up with the idea of starting your own fashion label?My nickname Kiwi has been with me since I was 12 years old and even back then stood for power, endurance, and discipline. Now, in my role as a consultant, coach, and expert, I give something back to the world of sports, to which I owe so much: My many years of work as a brand and sports ambassador for various companies/products, combined with my passion for numerous sports, have gradually made a childhood dream come true.
My passions, besides tennis and football, include golf and marathons. I'm someone who loves sports, but I also like to think outside the box. Now I'm channeling my experience from numerous sporting activities, as well as other areas, into the production of sporty leisurewear. Since March 2025, classic Kiwi-inspired designs with a personal touch have been created in Northern Germany.
So, how exactly did the founding of your fashion label proceed?In 2017, I met Holger Gartz by chance at the Nicolas Kiefer Charity event benefiting Aktion Kindertraum, between my time with Paar and Birdie. He's an experienced textile manufacturer and finisher whose company in Kassel, North Hesse, was able to deliver precisely the quality I needed. #kiwifash was born.
#kiwifash represents a passion for sports, strength, ambition, and down-to-earth approach to everyday life, and is designed to bring complete satisfaction to its wearer. These are the qualities that have led me to success. And I want to make this feeling tangible, palpable, and wearable for you, so that you too can feel like an Olympian!
