Tennis to your ears with the Murmelcast - the padel podcast with a little bit of tennis by Yannik Mann and Clinton Thomson
Today I've got something for your ears again! In an interview with Padelmann and our padel expert Yannik Mann, I'm talking about the padel podcastMurmelcast , which Yannik has been running since 2024 together with tennis and padel enthusiast Clinton Thomson from Tennis Ewige Liebe . It's all about padel and sometimes a bit about tennis too. Training experiences, tournaments, stroke techniques, and much more to help you really get the ball rolling. But find out for yourselves what all gets mumbled about in the podcast! Enjoy!
Who and what is the Murmelcast podcast about?
To further promote enthusiasm for padel and tennis, tennis coach Clinton Thomson and Yannik launched the Murmelcast podcast during a joint camp holiday in 2024. The two actually met while building marble runs with their kids on the beach. That's partly where the name comes from. Of course, the "marble" also refers to the ball... Yannik is known to many of you as our padel expert.
For those who don't know him yet, here's some information about padel player Yannik Mann : Yannik started playing padel in Mallorca, where he grew up. After returning to Cologne, where he studied sports at the German Sport University Cologne, he played padel in and around Cologne. He has been a padel coach since 2016 and an instructor since 2017. As a coach, he works for Hello Padel and the German Padel Federation, and he also coaches the German Senior National Team.
Clinton Thomason, on the other hand, comes from a tennis background, runs a tennis school called Tennis Ewige Liebe in Neuss , and coaches the local men's Bundesliga team. After a year of intensive padel training, Clinton is already a member of the over-40 senior national team and is currently completing his B-level padel coaching certification.
The new podcast covers numerous topics related to tennis and padel, with a clear focus on padel. Listen to exciting and truly entertaining episodes from the two "Murmelmeister" (Ball Masters) about tournaments, technical tips, strategies, the mental aspects of the game, and even travel topics for athletes. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, the Murmelcast offers valuable insights and inspiration for your everyday sporting life.
My very personal conclusion
Yannik and Clinton are two absolute idealists who love and live padel and tennis with every fiber of their being. And on top of that, they're incredibly laid-back and have an amazing capacity for motivation. It's simply infectious and inspiring. And that comes across in the podcasts. They skillfully and entertainingly pass the conversation back and forth on all topics. While listening, I really felt like I was sitting comfortably somewhere with them, listening to their chat. You're right there with them! And of course, the podcast also covers some super interesting topics: varied and with lots of in-depth analysis, so it's also very interesting for padel fanatics! I really enjoy the Murmelcast, and I'm sure you will too!
