A tennis hotel in Austria with a long-standing tennis tradition
The Stanglwirt is located in Going am Wilden Kaiser , an incredibly beautiful corner of Tyrol with a breathtaking mountain panorama. Lots of nature, peace and lots of sports and leisure opportunities await you on 12 hectares in and around the Stanglwirt.
Tennis players will certainly be familiar with the Stanglwirt, as the topic of tennis has been very important at the hotel for many decades. And that this is the case, you can see for yourself all year round on the beautiful indoor and outdoor tennis facility!
Hotel description
The Stanglwirt has experienced an incredible history, from a simple inn to today's five-star luxury resort . Now run by the 11th generation of the Hauser family, the hotel is more than successfully passed down from generation to generation. And you can see and feel it in this hotel! As the name suggests, the greatest emphasis is placed on sustainability and organic produce . From the food, which uses regional organic products (some of which even come from the hotel's own farm) to the furnishings and architecture. Surrounded by meadows and the Wilder Kaiser mountains, the Stanglwirt is a little world of its own, where you simply can't help but feel at home. Everything is in one place, yet so many options – whether for couples seeking peace and quiet or families.
You can sleep well in lovingly furnished and very cozy double rooms, family rooms, studios and spacious suites for up to six people.
It smells of pine wood, linen and other natural materials! The rooms stand out wonderfully from the super modern Alpine look that is so often seen and, thanks to the use of local products such as larch wood for the floor, pine wood for the furniture, and linen and cotton fabrics, they are easy to “lie in and feel good in”. Everything is beautifully decorated in white and gold - the “Stanglwirt colors” and looks elegant.
Tennis
Tennis is a part of the Stanglwirt – like... string to racket. Yes, that's exactly right! You can practice year-round eight clay courts and five indoor courts , two slinger ball machines available. You're welcome to play tennis under the guidance of the renowned and internationally active Peter Burwash International Tennis School (PBI) , which offers professional individual and group training for all ages and skill levels. In addition to special tennis packages, there are so-called "Tennis for Life" weekly courses with two hours of training daily. Or you can book a tennis clinic and work specifically on your groundstroke or doubles. Of course, there are also tennis courses for kids. You can borrow Wilson tennis rackets free of charge.
More sports offerings
We're only presenting a few of the vast range of sports on offer here—it would be difficult to include everything in a tennis holiday: horseback riding, swimming, golf, hiking, running, mountain biking, fishing, or, in winter, skiing : you can do all of these to your heart's content at the Stanglwirt. And for all of these activities, we offer courses or training programs, either in groups or with a personal trainer, so you can simply try something new. The indoor padel court will delight all racket lovers.
What's particularly great is the 500 m 2 fitness garden , which is well equipped with LifeFitness equipment and is waiting for your fitness sessions. The weekly program includes various indoor and outdoor fitness activities such as Nordic walking, back fitness, stretching, yoga, etc., which are led by trained trainers. For anyone who has back or joint pain, there is the Medical Fitness program , where you can have yourself and your symptoms treated by Björn Schulz, personal trainer at Stanglwirt - certainly a great thing!
Wellness
With a total area of 12,000 m2, the topic of wellness is more than a priority at the Stanglwirt - and in two senses: the 2,500 m² wellness world (from 16 years old) offers you Europe's largest hotel-owned brine pool, a professional sports swimming pool and a natural swimming lake , which you can immerse yourself in directly from the panoramic event sauna. A pine bio sauna and a marble steam bath round off the sauna area. You can relax in the large relaxation area with an open fireplace. Weather permitting, you can make yourself comfortable outdoors on the lawn with a fantastic mountain panorama.
If you're traveling as a family, you don't have to miss out on the bathing and sauna experience: in the over 3,000 m², separate wellness and water adventure world for families, you can splash around in the indoor rock pool (with outdoor pool) and in the rock sauna area (with salt grotto, spruce bio sauna, Wilder Kaiser sauna and stone sauna). There is also the large children's water world with a 120 meter long slide and a pool cinema!
The Stanglwirt's spa offerings are vast : from massages and baths with whey from the hotel's own farm, to Ayurvedic treatments and complete spa packages for all ages and every problem area. If you can't find the perfect wellness treatment for you, it's your own fault. And of course, there are also very special offerings like Rolfing with biomechanist Sascha, a holistic, manual bodywork approach, and other Stanglwirt-specific treatments such as Reflexology Special, Japanese SI Therapy, or Craniosacral Therapy with specially trained therapists. Especially valuable for us TennisTraveller when we're feeling achy! Those who treat themselves to a cosmetic treatment can treat themselves with TGC - The Good Conscious skincare products, specially developed for the Stanglwirt.
Catering
Start your morning between 7 and 11 a.m. with a delicious breakfast buffet that offers everything you need . Great emphasis is placed on regional produce: homemade jams and a wide variety of organic products leave nothing to be desired. During the day, you can dine (for a fee) in the Kamin-Bistro or at the "Stangl" inn, before the culinary highlight of the evening arrives: a multi-course gourmet menu, sometimes themed around specific evenings, served in the hotel restaurant. Or you can dine in the inn, which offers a more rustic experience. You're guaranteed a perfect wine pairing from the excellent and well-stocked wine cellar.
The menu in the hotel restaurant costs €65 per person – absolutely justified, according to our TennisTraveller . However, if you're traveling as a family, dinner is an expense you'll need to factor in. Here you pay 9 euros for your kids up to three years old, 18 euros for kids up to six years old, 36 euros for kids up to 12 years old, 48 euros for kids up to 14 years old, and 65 euros for kids 15 years and older.
You can spend your perfect tennis holiday day in the cozy hotel bar and make yourself really comfortable in the large wing chairs.

Vicinity
Kitzbühel or nature - you are spoiled for choice.
To stroll and shop, head to Kitzbühel, just 11 kilometers away - a place with a very special charm. If you like it quiet and prefer to go out into nature, great hiking trails to wonderful alpine pastures await you. Some palaces and castles such as the Kufstein Fortress (21km) also invite you to take a trip. There are great destinations for families such as the Hexenwasser Hochsöll adventure world or the Aurach wildlife park. And if you prefer glamor instead, you can drive to the Svarovski Crystal Worlds in just over an hour.
The Stanglwirt was tested and recommended by Roland:"A 5 star hotel that makes you feel at home. And I would definitely add another star for the seats outside - just really nice! The hall is also absolutely recommended!"
